Salmon Sushi Bowls

Pictures weren’t that great or that easy this morning, but these girls were still just as sweet as ever!

I loved this one giant curl in the back of her hair today, it was so pretty!

I believe both girls had a good day at school today, but we only got a few photos of Emmie in her classroom. (I later had to go pick her up just after 4pm, because she had a slight fever and said her stomach hurt. She’s been mostly fine tonight, but Jeff will keep her home from school tomorrow.)

I tried a new “recipe” for dinner tonight, just from a screenshot in a Trader Joe’s Facebook group, for salmon sushi bowls (although we had it on paper plates instead of in bowls, but you get the idea…). I just “fried” some cubed salmon in sesame oil with soy sauce, then put it on top of rice with avocado, cucumber, cilantro, green onion, homemade spicy mayo, and some spicy chili oil. It was good, but not great. Jeff and both ate it, but neither of us loved it, so I probably won’t do that exact same thing again, although I do like the idea of it, and might try to change it up somehow in the future.

But my current fave spicy Asian salad was just as delicious as always!

Addie and Emmie loved the salmon & rice though, and Addie had avocado for the first time, and also loved that too. And of course they both loved a little bit of chocolate donut hole for dessert.

We’re not really, totally sure, but we think that when she points at and taps on her tray, that she’s asking for more food, like in this photo below.

One of Emmie’s teachers did her hair today, and I loved this little hairstyle, and the way the ponytail at the very end was so curly!

We watched a little bit of the original 90’s Space Jam (she was curious after her friend at school brought space jam birthday goodies yesterday) and cuddled on the couch together. She still had a low grade fever tonight, hovering right around 100, so I gave her some meds, and she’s been mostly fine, and only slightly pitiful acting all night. Not really sure what’s causing this slight fever, but hopefully it doesn’t turn into too much, and none of the rest of us get sick.

We got both girls down pretty easily tonight, and it’s not even 9pm yet, and I’m almost done with this post, so the night is going well so far. Headed to wash up the bottles and dishes as quick as I can, because I really wanna just pick up my current e-book on my Kindle, and read until my eyes can’t stay open anymore…
