Beautiful Spring Evening

Since Emerson had stay home from school today because of her fever last night, I took only one girl to school this morning. It felt really weird only taking Addison, but she was her sweet, happy self as always!

And here’s one photo we got of Addison today, doing some arts & crafts.

But Emmie had a good day at home with Daddy, and had no fever all day and was perfectly fine! This was when she was wearing Daddy’s neck brace (from when he had his neck/spinal surgery last year) around her head like a hat.

After I picked up Addie from school, I made BBQ chicken pizza and a bacon cheddar jalapeno-ranch salad. This was all super yummy, just like always.

We gave Addie these banana-flavored rice “rusks” with her dinner tonight, and she seemed to really enjoy it. (I have no idea what a “rusk” is, but that’s what the box says, sooo idk…)

Then we just had to go back outside for as long as we could before bedtime, because it was so beautiful outside and the temperature (and lack of humidity!) was just perfect! I said it was a beautiful spring evening, and then had to explain what “evening” meant when Emmie asked.

Oh, and while I’m thinking about it, I just want to share a few random things she said in the car yesterday on the way to school… “Look at that little squirrel, I bet her can our music and he’s dancing, and he’s cute.” And then, “Ants are cute little buddies, but they’re mean little buddies.”

Addison LOVED watching her sister play around, and kept squealing and shrieking in delight watching her on her bike & scooter.

Once Jeff came outside with us I tried to start a new book (this is literally the second page), but I didn’t get farther than just this page, because everyone just wanted to chat 🙂

My girl needed one more snack before bedtime, so she grabbed a GoGurt, and picked her current favorite book, for the fourth or fifth night in a row, “Pretzel,” in which she then tried to twist herself in a pretzel as well.

Addie basically skipped a bottle today, just because of how the schedule worked out, and so by the time she had her bedtime bottle, she completely drained her first 4oz bottle (which is typical), and still seemed hungry. So we made her a second 4oz bottle, and she drained that too. So she had double the milk tonight, and then she was ready for some zzzzz’s.

Very minimal dishes to handle tonight, which is good since it’s getting late (Emmie’s bedtime was a little bit frustrating, but we made it through eventually), so I’m gonna go handle that as quickly as I can, while listening to a few minutes of my audio book.
