Emerson looked absolutely beautiful and adorable for church this morning. She picked out her own tights, and told me how to fix her hair, and I couldn’t stand how grown up she looked!
I absolutely loved her low pony tail! That’s how I often wear mine, so I loved it on her so much too.
(Stole this photo from a church friend off Facebook, of Emmie’s class during music time. Thanks, Kathryn 😉 )
We went to Firehouse for lunch with the family after church, and Addison ate SO much food. Emerson loved putting the little fire chief hat on Addison, and she seemed to think it was pretty funny too.
Addie also looked SO pretty for church this morning, wearing this hand-me-down dress of Emerson’s.
Both girls took a great afternoon nap, and that gave me time to show off my nails (to send a pic to my friend Britteny), and read on my Kindle a little bit with my iced coffee, while Jeff folded some laundry, with classical music playing softly on the tv in the living room. It was a nice, quiet, hour or so, that we both really enjoyed.
After the girls woke up, Jeff worked on snaking the drain pipe under the kitchen sink, in hopes that maybe it was just a blockage or something causing the problem. I took care of the girls, and folded some of their laundry, and picked out / laid out all of Addie’s clothes for the week.
Then we headed across town to have dinner at Jason’s Deli with Nana & PopPop. I made myself an amazing salad from their salad bar tonight, and ate literally every single bite. They’ve also recently added roasted red pepper hummus & pita chips, and that was all super good too.
And then after dinner, this happened!! The motor unit with four TPD officers and two sheriff’s officers came in right as we got there, and Emmie was so excited to see them, and waving at them. This officer blipped his lights and sirens at her, and she loved it. Then he came up to us in the store and gave her a badge sticker, and I told him he was the first “real life” police officer she had seen and that she was so excited, and he said that if we were all leaving at the same time, that she could go sit on his bike. And it was so great! She loved it so much, and was so excited, she was speechless! He did the lights & sirens again, and it really was so cool. So thank you very much, Sgt. Caplan!
And of course we even had to get baby sister up there for a bit too!
Once the other five officers came out, the all got on their bikes, and circled the lot to get lined up correctly, and even watching them drive away (from such close proximity), was super cool for all of us!
When we got home, we let Emmie stay up a little late to help Daddy with some yard work, while I worked on getting Addison to sleep. She fought me tonight, and it took over an hour, and three attempts to lay her down, before she was officially out for the night. Once we got Emmie to bed (about 1.5 hours later than usual), she was at least easy to get down, and fell asleep quickly.
Jeff is exhausted after another hard day of lots of work around the house, so he’s probably going to fall asleep soon here, a little earlier than usual, and I’ll keep watching Survivor for a bit before my own bedtime.
