Pet Peeves & Christmas Trees

After another busy weekend, we actually did really well getting ready for school and work this morning, and the girls were both in a good mood. Emerson especially was in a very silly, goofy mood!

This week is spirit week with special dress-up days, and today was “Grinch day.” We kept it simple with just a green dress, but the little girl opening Emmie’s door is actually a family friend, and she had her hair done up all crazy like Cindy Lou Who!

Cute little Christmas mug, card & treat waiting on my desk this morning from my friend Heather. That peppermint cocoa brownie was good with my morning coffee.

Got this for my office with my weekend grocery order, and it smells so good and so fresh in my tiny office.

Started a little cheesy Kindle Christmas book today, and only 5% in, I found a major pet peeve. The chapter is literally titled “1999,” and they’re talking about how the world will end at the Y2K New Year… Then they make a comment about watching “Survivor.” Well we all know I’ve been obsessed with “Survivor” this past year, so I immediately know it was filmed and aired in 2000, so their comment about it 1999 was just wrong. It would have only taken a 2-second Google search to fact check that, and apparently no one did that; not the author, or editor, or whoever, and that bugs the mess outta me…

OK, I’ll hop off that soap box for now…

Little Addie Pie had a good day at school as usual today.

After work, I baked some Aldi manicotti for dinner, made a little Italian side salad, and heated up some frozen garlic bread. Honestly, the salad and bread were great, but the manicotti was just okay… We usually get the one from the refrigerated section, and this frozen one was different and not as good.

We got the girls in the bath after dinner (after way too long of skipping baths due to busy schedules). Then we got them dried and dressed and combed all the curly hairs, and got them some bedtime snacks, and they were ready for cuddle times with Daddy.

And then tonight, we finally officially finished our Christmas tree! Jeff put on the star, and added a few more ornaments at the very top I couldn’t reach. Then I relocated a few to “un-clump” some areas that Emmie did 😉 And I added the tree skirt around the bottom. And just as always, I really love it so much! Just took us a very long time to get it all completed this year….

I’m gonna wash up some dishes really quickly, and then work on a little project to finish up my plant puzzle from last week, before finally calling it complete.
