We had a great morning at church today! I was on the worship team, and Jeff was serving in GC kids, and these cute girls were wearing pretty lavender dresses Grammy got from the outlets on vacay. But Addison is a goofball and can’t give us a normal smile for photos these days.
We went to Panda Express for lunch after church today. We got two big meals and split everything with the little girls. Emerson ate SO much of the honey sesame chicken, so it was a good thing we had a lot of it to go around!
After lunch I got Addison down for her nap, and then I laid down to nap as well. Jeff and Emmie both stayed up though, both working quietly on their laptop/tablet in the living room. Addie woke up after about an hour or so though, and after a little fit trying to get her back down, I got her calm but she didn’t go back to sleep. I was able to sleep about 30 more minutes after that, and then I ran out to pick up the Walmart grocery order.
While I was there, I decided to treat myself (and the fam since it’s huge) to a delicious passion fruit agua fresca from the guys with the tent in the Walmart parking lot. We’ve only gotten one of these drinks one other time before, but they’re so good! He also gave me a sample to taste of the pineapple banana, and that was also super creamy and yummy.
Here’s a little snapshot of all the non-clothing items we got at the yard sale yesterday – ceramic garlic baker, Coca-Cola puzzle for my Mama, 3 of the 5 books from the Eragon series in hardback, The Way of Kings in hardback to give to Ryan (one of my step-sons), a bunch of white & pink tissue poms for Addie’s upcoming birthday (she wants a flower theme), and a cute small leather purse for me. All of this, plus two Walmart plastic bags stuffed full of clothes for Emerson, including shorts, shirts, dresses, and a bathing suit.
After getting all the groceries put away, we were able to have a little bit of quiet reading time all together in the living room. We attempted it for about 45 minutes, but probably only 10 of those minutes were actually quiet, and the rest of the minutes Addison was a total goofball, playing with Pennie and just being a tiny weirdo.
Then we went out and met my parents for dinner at Sonny’s. I only took this one picture there, then my fingers got too messy with all that BBQ sauce.
But then Emerson convinced us we needed to go over to Lofty Pursuits for some ice cream for dessert. And obviously none of us protested that too much! So luckily I was able to snap a few photos there.
We had a great, simple night with them, and we were glad to be able to see them and some some time together!
It was time for bedtime routines once we got home, so we got their girls in their sleepy shirts, and then started going through all the usual steps…
I accidentally fell asleep in the bed next to Emerson for about 15 minutes, so clearly I’m exhausted and in need of a good night’s rest!
