So I’m not really a Starbucks fan (we’re Dunkin people in this family), but I do love these bottled Frappuccino’s. Jeff picked this one out for me from the gas station on the way to church this morning, and it was delicious.
Look how pretty my girl was for church today, sporting some of her pretty new Christmas gifts – dress, hair bow, and necklace.
I have no idea what this was, but she just randomly did it, and we all laughed at her so big.
We went to Pancho’s for lunch after church today, because I was really craving some super delicious tacos. It had been a while since we’ve been there, but I’ve been wanting to go for the past few weeks, after recommending the place to a friend, and hearing her rave about it, I’d been wanting it so much! Emmie didn’t want Mexican food, but requested a Lunchable, so Jeff ran into Walmart and got her one on our way there. And girlfriend ate every bite of that, plus plenty of chips & queso as well.
And y’all! I’m sure I raved about these tacos the last time we were there, but I had to get the same thing again today, and DANG they were good. I got the al pastor tacos, which is pork with pineapple, and this is my favorite thing to order at any authentic Mexican restaurant or truck, and these are officially my favorite ones in town! (My favorite ones ever were from a taco truck somewhere in Alabama on our way back home from Missouri last March. I still think about those, often.)
I could have been satisfied with two tacos, but the meal automatically comes with three tacos, and I didn’t want to waste one. So I decided to just finish off the third one, and I was completely stuffed, but it was absolutely delicious and very worth it.
A few weeks ago, Emerson said she wanted to name the new baby “Starfish.” (Can’t remember if I blogged about that or not?) Well today, a sweet friend from church gave Emmie this little gift, for being brave in the hospital, and thought it was funny based on Emmie’s baby name suggestion 😉 And Emerson loved it!
I got her down for her naptime very easily today, and sent Jeff to Walmart to pickup our grocery order. They were a little backed up and a little slow and took quite a while, but I didn’t mind the quiet house by myself. When he was leaving, he saw the deep fried Oreo stand set up in the parking lot, and just could not resist. And so even though I was absolutely stuffed from lunch, I still found room for some of these bad boys. Sooo good.
After Emerson woke up from her nap (Jeff and I fell asleep on the couch for a while after getting the groceries put away), we went over to my aunt & uncle’s house for a big family dinner. My cousin Aaron and his wife Mandy had come into town from Missouri (he was actually the guest preacher at our church this morning and did an awesome job – you can watch the sermon here), so we had a big family dinner with everyone while they were in town.
Uncle Keith grilled some oysters for appetizers tonight. Mandy told me she was a picky eater but liked them when he made them last night. So since I consider myself an adventurous eater, I figured I should at least try them! (I think I’ve tried them raw before, and didn’t like it, but can’t really quite remember.) Anyways, I think you’ll be able to tell from the series of photos below what my thoughts on the matter were…
We had BBQ sandwiches with baked beans & potato salad for dinner, and although I forgot to take a photo (who am I?), it was delicious. And we all had such a great time together tonight! Glad that Aaron & Mandy came down to Florida for a few days, and glad that we could all get together for some good family time!
Emerson took home a Ziplock bag of three dino chicken nuggets, but had eaten all three of them before we even got home! She did really good at bedtime, and we had her down for the count by just a few minutes after 8pm. The last two nights it was more like 9pm or later, so I’m glad we got her asleep earlier tonight, for both her sake & ours! Jeff’s working on a load of laundry, and I’m gonna get some warm jammies on and settle down to rest before another busy week.
