Ninth Birthday Princess

Today was Emerson’s 9th birthday! She specifically asked for birthday accessories this year, so we grabbed these at Dollar Tree the other day, and she was very excited to wear them today!

She was also very excited to have a special birthday breakfast at Uptown Cafe with Grammy! I dropped her off there with Grammy, and they had their own little breakfast date together, and then Emmie went to camp.

Meanwhile, Jeff took Addison to camp, after they stopped to get some Chick-fil-A breakfast on the way.

Next up, for lunch Emerson requested that Mama bring her lunch to camp, and she specifically chose a croissant melt from Chicken Salad Chick. And we didn’t want to make little sister feel left out, so I brought lunch for her as well. Addie only barely ate, and then wanted to run back to the Praise room with her group, because they were doing her favorite song (“Washed in the Water”) and she didn’t wanna miss it! I was chopped liver! 😂 But Emmie wanted to Velcro on to me of course!

We did have a little issue I ordered the Sassy Scotty for her (which is bacon & ranch), but they accidentally gave her the same Maui Mama that I ordered, which was pineapple, bacon & jalapeno. So she definitely couldn’t eat it because it was too spicy. Since I had placed the order online to pick up and take to camp, I didn’t realize it until she tried to eat it. So I went ahead and called them about the mistake, and asked if they would remake for us to come back and grab it. So she of course just had to go with me, so we stayed and let her eat there for a minute, before taking her back to camp. Oh, and the CSC lady gave her that giant green flower cookie for her birthday, for free!

After work and camp, I picked up the girls, and we started making our way to dinner. I was just driving down a few random roads, kinda not thinking about where I was going since we weren’t in a hurry… Addie was like, “I wanna go to a Little Free Library!” And literally as I was starting to respond to say, “We’re not going to one right now,” I looked up, and legit two houses down we saw one! It was one we hadn’t been to before, and didn’t even know it existed. The girls hopped out to check, but we didn’t actually grab anything. But I did add it to my Google Maps list of “unmapped” spots, that aren’t registered on the LFL app map.

And then we decided to purposefully go visit one of my favorite ones, where I almost always find a book or two that interests me. And today, I found this Ali Hazelwood that I’ve been wanting to read but haven’t been able to borrow from the library yet. So this was a great find!

And for Emerson’s final meal request of the day, she wanted the Chinese buffet and sushi at Chow Time! She filled up her first plate with all things crab (sushi, crab salad, plain crab, crab rangoon) and then her second plate was all the rice and chicken and noodles she wanted. And she finished up with a plate of about five different desserts!

And Addie Pie was just trying her hardest to make these chopsticks work, using her creativity to get it done!

And since I hadn’t been in any of the special birthday meal photos with Emmie so far, we had to do a quick selfie at a long stop light on our way home together!

Wish one more happy 9th birthday to my first-born, the birthday princess, Emerson Secille! 🧁🎉👸🏼 She is such a delight and I absolutely love being her mom. She’s my mini-me in so many ways, but she’s also growing into her own amazing person. I love that Tater Tot more than she’ll ever know! 🩷👑
