New Classroom

Adorable girls, dressed cute and ready for another week of school! Addison actually started in a new class at daycare today, and she did so great.

Addie kept telling me this morning, “hair bow, hair bow!” I told her I didn’t have time to fix her hair today, but she was very insistent, so I took 45 seconds to do this tiny bun on the top of her head, and it’s so adorable.

Love the campfire theme on her new classroom door. She just walked straight into the new room, with her new teacher, and went over to the table with her friends. Zoom in (on the second photo below) for a glimpse of Addie with a very surprised look on her cute face.

Emmie wanted a messy bun just like Mommy’s today, and it turned out really cute. I love that her hair actually looks exactly like mine when I do it this way.

I thrifted this book with Emmie a few weeks ago, but just now finally started on it today. This is my book club’s pick for this month, and we meet next Friday night, so I’ve got just under two weeks to read this 500-page WWI/post-WWII novel. If it was audio or Kindle, I would be able to read it faster, since I can listen while doing other things, and read a Kindle book on my phone at any spare minute. But it just takes a little more work to pick up a physical copy, so I’ll make sure to get as much reading done during my hour-long lunch breaks these next 9 working days.

And it looks like Addison had a great day in her new classroom.

Tried out a new thing for dinner tonight, with this Thai basil and sweet chili stir fry sauce. I added veggies and diced chicken, and cooked lots of basmati rice. And this was delicious. Jeff said it was spicy (Emmie barely even tried one bite of the stir fry, but ate tons of rice and some fruit), but I honestly didn’t think it was spicy at all, and I loved it. Going to try some of their other flavors and see how those are.

After dinner, the girls put their cute little cotton candy jammies on again from last night, and played together so sweetly for a little while. We had about 30 minutes between dinner and bed, and we just snuggled and played and relaxed a bit.

Jeff rocked Addison to sleep for a bit, but I think she fell asleep pretty quickly. I did Emerson’s usual bedtime routine with her, but you can tell by those sleepy eyes that she was ready for bedtime really quickly too.

I’m going to go wash up tonight’s dishes, and listen to my current audio book, and then we’ll probably watch an episode of Ted Lasso. Then I’ll try to force myself to read some of my paperback book, instead of scrolling TikTok before bedtime…
