Mushroom & Truffle & Water Painting

Easy peasy fall-ish breakfast today.

Then Jeff and Addie went to Home Depot (for some random home maintenance things), and Emmie and I went to Walmart to do some actual grocery shopping, since there were no pick-up slots available at any Walmart in town all weekend long. But it wasn’t too crowded yet that early, and she was a good helper, and we didn’t veer off our list too badly 😉

We all got back home in time for an early lunch, and we ate a few simple things we grabbed at the stoor.

After lunch, Jeff to Emerson to another birthday party for a school friend. But Addie was exhausted and cranky and very much ready for a nap, so I stayed home with her. She fell asleep super quickly, and I laid her down after just a few minutes. Then I spent a long time washing everything I could find in our house (had to leave the crockpot soaking), and then I made myself a cold chai drink, and sat down to read for a while since she was still asleep. And I finished this Colleen Hoover book today, and it was so good.

Emerson had a great time at the party with all her new school friends, and had a hard time leaving.

When Addie woke up, she wanted to go outside, so I grabbed a giant blanket to use as a pallet, and we hung out for about 30 minutes until finally Jeff and Emmie got home and joined us outside on our blanket.

Honestly, both girls were kinda whiny and cranky on & off all afternoon, and kept crying over the tiniest things. I think we were all getting tired and hangry, and we needed to eat. But since we live on the college side of town, we knew we needed to go out of our way to get away from the stadium. I also wanted to go somewhere across town just to let Addie fall asleep in the car. So we “went around our elbow to get to our ying-yang” (something random my parents used to say), and ended up out at Uncle Maddio’s by Costco and it was delicious. I got a truffle mushroom pizza, and WOW it was so good.

And then of course we just had to go across the parking lot for a special splurge dessert too.

We had forgotten our blanket outside, so we decided to eat our cookies out there, before bringing everything back inside.

But first we had to let the girls run wild for a bit to run off some of the sugar before bedtime.

Addie was asleep in no time flat, but Emmie was clingy and needed extra cuddles. But everyone is asleep now, so I’m going to go paint my nails before my own bedtime.
