Mother’s Day 2022

My biggest girl was just so beautiful today, in her new dress and new shoes, so dressed up and fancy for church this monring!

And this morning, we had baby dedication at church! If you’re not familiar with this tradition, it means we promise to raise her up in the church, teaching her about Jesus and instilling God’s Word in her life, in hopes that one day she’ll made the decision on her own to live her life for Christ. We picked out a life verse for her too:

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.” –Psalm 25: 4-5 (Here’s my post from 2018, when we dedicated Emerson as well.)

She stayed awake alllllll morning during church, and then slept all through lunch at Nana & PopPop’s house. Nana had put a roast in the crockpot this morning, and that was delicious for lunch today.

Once Addison finally woke up, we went outside to take some family photos all together.

And since yesterday was Jeff’s birthday, he got some presents today from his parents, in addition to the Mother’s Day gifts we gave to Nana.

We went back home long enough to take care of Pretzel, change our clothes, and make myself an iced coffee for the road, because I was absolutely exhausted!

Then we went out to Grammy & Papa’s house for Mother’s Day with my side of the family. The little girls all went swimming for a while, and I even let Papa dip Addie into the pool, in her birthday suit! It was chilly though, and she wasn’t loving it, so it only lasted about 10 seconds for her first time in the big pool.

We went with a simple sub & sandwich bar for dinner, but it was really good. I love sandwiches. Meg and I made two completely different kinds, and split them both, and I loved it.

These fancy girls ate their leftover birthday cake while wearing their princess dress-up clothes.

And no trip to Grammy & Papa’s is complete these days without some time in the bounce house!

All the girls gathered round and “helped” Grammy open her presents.

Then we got a photo out front with four generations of girls! So thankful for these women in my family, and the next generation of girls Meg and I are raising together.

Jeff got me these cute Pioneer Woman canvas totes (there’s a smaller one inside this), along with some great-smelling wax melts, in a really cute little container, cute enough to sit out on the bookshelf with the rest of the decor. The wax melt itself is even in the shape of a cute little peach! I’ve got one melting now, and it smells so fresh.

We’ve had such a full, busy weekend, and I loved how much family time we got together. This week will slow down a little bit, but then next weekend is very full and busy again. Maybe I can get some rest during the week this week? HA! We’ll see… heading off to wind down now though…
