Moana & Pua

Today was dress-up day at school, and so of course it was a perfect day for Emerson to wear her Moana outfit to school today! She even took her little bestie Pua with her, because Pua always goes on the adventures with Moana, even to school for a day!

For lunch today, I had the delicious homemade chicken noodle soup that Nita brought over last night, and finished up another book in the Inspector Gamache series, #13. And then I immediately opened up the next book to get started on book #14.

And then I also ate two more of these tiny delicious satsumas.

They had some fall festivities in their classes today, and got to eat cookies topped with whipped cream for their afternoon snack, for a Halloween treat.

After what felt like a very long week, and four nights of scrounging random dinners from what I could find in the house, I did not want to cook again! I asked Jeff what he thought we should do, and when he suggested Momo’s, I very readily and heartily agreed. I had already thought about picking up a pizza from somewhere, but sitting down and getting one of the best pizza’s in town? Now that was a great idea! Emmie didn’t want pizza though, so we grabbed her a Happy meal on the way, and she ate every bite of her nuggets & apples, half the fries, and then plenty of the sausage off our pizza 😉

We did a medium pizza, half “big meat” for Jeff and half “deluxe” for me, sub onions for olives. Jeff ate three of his slices, and I ate two of mine, and we brought the other three leftover slices home for lunch tomorrow.

After sitting still in her high chair for nearly an hour, she was itching to get out and run around. So she hopped around this tiny path right outside for a few minutes, and then her and I walked up and down the sidewalk in front of that strip of shops about three times, before finally getting in the car to head home.

When we got home, we snuggled in our bed together, all three of us sharing a bag of Skittles and watching “Wreck it Ralph.” It was super sweet. Her and I both got cold though, so we both had to put on our plush, warm robes, to get more comfortable.

We read a Peppa the Pig book (that was a gift while she was in the hospital that we finally just now read for the first time a couple of days ago), and then got her settled in for bedtime. She wasn’t sleep and didn’t want to go to bed (I know, I’m a broken record with that one, but obviously so is she), but I reminded her of all the fun things we have planned tomorrow, and told her we couldn’t do them if she didn’t sleep first, and that helped calm her down. Glad I don’t have dishes to wash, so I can just chill out for a bit before my own bedtime!
