Mega Sports Camp, Year 2

Addie was very excited to carry around the tiny crocheted taco this morning, and Emmie was very excited for her second summer at Mega Sports Camp at GC!

Addie was showing off her little tummy at school drop-off. And I picked up the lunch that Megan had left there for me!

Emmie will be doing cheerleading at Mega Sports Camp this week, just like she did last year. MSC is kind of like a sports-oriented vacation Bible school, where the kids get to choose one sport to focus on, and then they also do music and Bible lessons and learn Bible verses. It’s clearly lots of fun! And Emmie’s favorite teenager that always works with GC Kids (and who also came to her 6th birthday party a couple of weeks ago) is one of the cheer coaches, so obviously she was super excited!

My lunch from Meg today was seafood linguine, with shrimp and fresh-caught scallops that Bo caught on a fishing trip just a few days on Friday. Very fancy!

One of Addison’s teachers did a very impressive French braid, with just her tiny little hairs! So cute! And looks like she had fun at school.

After the normal half-day Mega Sports Camp, we registered for Emerson to stay at the full-day extended camp at the church for the week. So she stayed there all day, and then got to ride to daycare with Uncle Bo in their van. Meanwhile, I got to daycare first, so I picked up Addie and the trippies, and they all just climbed around my car like little monkeys for about 10 minutes, while we waited.

This week, we’re doing a bit of a freezer clean-up for a few of our dinners. A couple of weeks ago, I made Japanese chicken curry in the instant pot for dinner. Then after we ate, I froze the leftovers. So last night, I put it in the fridge to thaw, and then I just dumped the square-tupperware-shaped curry into a pot to warm up while I cooked some fresh basmati rice. Super easy, super yummy!

Dinner was kind of chaotic, with Addie digging through kitchen cabinets instead of eat, Jeff working on the computer, and me and Emmie eating, while trying to convince Addie to come to the table. We did all eventually finish eating, then we took some time to focus on cleaning up the space between the couch and the kitchen counter, which is always just a cluttered drop-zone full of backpacks, shoes, lunchboxes, and so much other junk. Then it was time for jammies and snacks and Bluey for the girls, which led to bedtime as always.

Both girls went to sleep easily, and then I spent about 15 minutes working on the puzzle. Jeff also helped me work on it a little bit last night too, and we’ve made some good progress so far. And it’s just so stinking cute – I’m loving it so much already. I feel positive we’ll glue this one, and frame it, and put it up somewhere.

I need to force myself to spend at least a little bit washing dishes before settling down, and then we’re going to watch some tv together before bedtime.
