Mariana Caverns

Emerson didn’t have puzzle camp today, so instead, Papa took her on a special one-on-one field trip! Back in April or May (can’t remember), when Emerson had that awful stomach bug for like five or six days, she missed a field trip at school with her gifted class to visit the Mariana Caverns. So way back then, Papa told her he’d take her one day when she was feeling up to it. And today worked out perfectly for their trip!

They had lunch at a teeny-tiny hole-in-the-wall spot, that they both really liked, and the whole thing cost less than $10!

But then they also spent $10 on ice cream on the way home too 🙂

I don’t really know what all Jeff and Addie have been up to today, but this is Reagan, and she’s the one they went to visit with Jeff’s parents. She graduated today with her Doctorate of Pharmacy!

And this is Reagan’s brother, Braeden, who won Addie this “Honey Horse” from the claw machine game at their dinner tonight.

Meanwhile back in Tally, I went home at lunch today to let Pennie out, so that I could head straight up to my parents’ house when I got off work. And when I got there, I immediately put on my bathing suit and met them in the pool, because they were already swimming!

My mom ordered Emerson a new sling last night from Amazon, and it was delivered already today. It’s this pink mesh one, that’s much more breathable, and also padded and soft, and easier to put on as well. Plus, it holds her arm really well, and she felt much more supported in it. So she felt much more free and safe swimming around more today, and had lots of fun in the shallow end.

One of Mama’s work friends had been asking about how the week was going, and mom was telling her about all the hoopla. So when her friend went out at lunch, she picked up a baked ziti and meatballs, with garlic bread and an almond pastry from Tasty Pastry, and brought it back to her for our dinner tonight! That was so sweet of her, and so so delicious for us 🙂

After dinner, Emerson told me she wanted to play me something she learned, and then she went and just banged around on the piano as loud as possible like a crazy person 😂 And she just thought she was so hilarious!

We hung out chatting and talking a little while longer, and then eventually the two of us headed on home. Last night I was by myself, and tonight it’s just me and my big girl, and both are equally weird! I let her stay up late watching tv while I’ve been writing this blog, and we also had a call with Jeff and Addie, who are also staying up late because Addie is apparently buzzin’ on chocolate cheesecake from dessert!
