Mangonada

Today was “wear fall colors” at daycare today, and this little dress with cute little woodland animals was perfect for Addie.

Jeff took Emmie to school as usual, and she had a great drop-off.

And I took Addie to the doctor’s office for a quick weigh check-up. One month ago, at her 15-month appointment, she had actually lost one pound from the month before, and had a significant drop in her growth chart. So we went back today just to check. She’s actually back up to where she was before, and there’s no more concern, and no more weigh checks!

And then she had a great drop-off too. Her class was out on the playground, so it was cute getting to see her play out there for a few minutes before I left.

I splurged and treated myself to a delicious lunch from the Mexican food truck parked at my office building today, and wow it was sooo good. I got a chicken sopes, with chips & queso, and tried a mangonada for the first time. So many people in my office love these things, and it really was worth it.

Just a few days ago, I finished book #3 in my favorite fantasy series. Then yesterday afternoon, my hold came through on the audio for book for #3.1. My plan was to finish my other audiobook I was in the middle of first, but then late last night my hold came through on the audio book for #4 too! And so I said “forget it” to the celebrity memoir that everyone else has loved this summer, that I found kinda boring, and I’m back into the world of Velaris again for my re-read of these two.

I picked up both little girls from school like usual, and then headed home. I had planned to cook, but I was missing a few key ingredients (I don’t know how I do this so often), and we needed milk, and gas, so we just went out to McDonald’s really quickly. We ordered using deals from the app, and got food for all four of us for only $16. (In comparison, my lunch today was almost $18, but honestly worth it!)

Quick trip to Aldi afterwards for milk, and we ended up with a few other things, but only what we could carry, since we didn’t have a quarter for the buggy or bags for the groceries.

We had just a little bit of playtime in Addie’s room when we got home, until we started getting them ready for bedtime.

Emmie’s kindergarten class has visited the school library a few times already this year, but today was the first day they actually got to check out a book to bring home, and she was so excited and proud of the book she chose! (Can you tell how tired she is by those sleepy eyes?)

Jeff had rocked Addie to sleep really quickly and easily, and had her laid down in her crib before I even finished up with Emmie’s routine. Gotta say I’m glad there’s no dishes to wash (well, except Addie’s daily sippy cups), so I get quite a bit of free time to just chill tonight!
