Long Naps and Raindrops

You guys, Emerson slept until 7:05am this morning! It was incredible! After Jeff and Emmie got dressed, they ran to get donuts while the boys and I stayed home to get dressed. We all ate a donut for breakfast, grabbed our masks, and then headed out to church together.

Such a precious girl, and a cute little hand-me-down Christmas dress! She picked her own shoes today, and decided on her own to bring her Bible, which was just soo sweet.

We had Dairy Queen for lunch before heading home, and Emmie was playing hide & go seek, while all just sitting at the table together. Then she pulled her hands away, and said, “I FOUND Y’ALL!” She was so proud of herself šŸ˜‰

She wanted a bite of Daddy’s chocolate dipped ice cream cone, and had herself a little chocolate goatee.

After lunch, we went on home, and Emmie napped for about two hours, and I napped for about two and a half hours myself. I had a bad headache, but I took some Tylenol and thankfully it felt better when I woke up. Emmie put on her rain boots and tromped around the backyard for a while, making up all sorts of things and pretending her stick was all sorts of different things and tools.

My little succulent on the back patio table is still growing and thriving, and it looked so pretty with rain drops in the middle of all the little bulbs.

This next photo looks like oneĀ  you use as your cell phone backdrop, and I love it!

Emmie told Daddy she wanted to play a video game, so he turned on the old school Spyro, played himself, and gave Emmie a dead remote and let her think she was really playing herself. She was so funny, and kept saying she was getting all the bad guys!

She played with her dolls and babies and pretended she was going to school, while I folded all her clean clothes and hung up her dresses.

She had almost an entire bowl of oatmeal around 5:30pm, and then at 7pm decided she wanted more food, and ate a giant serving of leftover chicken and rice. I do not know where she put all that food tonight!

She colored and played a little while longer, and then picked two bedtime books for each of her bubbas to read her one.

Jeff will be traveling with them tomorrow to take them back to their mom, so tonight was their last night with us. (They’re typical teenage boys who don’t like taking pictures, so that’s why there are never very many of them when they’re here.)

Emmie didn’t want to go to sleep tonight as usual, and she put up quite a fight before finally giving in and settling down for the night. The boys got their clothes laundered and folded today, and all of their stuff is piled in the living room to get pack in the truck when Dave picks them up in the morning. (He is riding with Jeff, and they’re taking his truck.) So tonight, we’re going to finish watching “Home Alone” (which we started last night), and hang out a little before I fall asleep.
