Taco Tuesday on Cinco de Mayo! Yes of course!!
Taco ’bout cute! Am I right?! 🙂
Made myself another Greek chicken salad last night with the leftovers, so I could bring it to work for today’s lunch. I took my salad, and a new book (plus my spray-on hand sanitizer) down to the picnic table for some fresh air. The salad was even better today than last night (I used more feta today, and the dressing sat overnight), and this WWII historical fiction novel is off to an interesting start.
Jeff and his mom both only worked a half day today, and Emmie only went to school for a half day…
Then Jeff and his mom picked up Emerson from school (plus they already had Libby & Andersen), then the five of them went on a little afternoon adventure to the St. Mark’s Lighthouse!
Jeff, Nita & the girls pulled up right as I finished washing last night’s dishes (I neglected them last night to watch Star Wars), so we sat around chatting for a bit, while they told me stories of their days and showed me photos & videos. Emerson was very excited to me about the crab that they saw, and the sea snails they picked up and held. Jeff said she had a blast, and LOVED the water, and was fearless. She kept wading out in the water, and he had to run after her multiple times because she just loved it so much!
Nita and the girls headed home to cook tacos at their house, and then I got started cooking our tacos! Because of course we had tacos for dinner.
After hanging out and playing in the bath tub for a while, as we were putting up all the toys at the very end, she was like, “E for Emerson!”
Emerson very sweetly read me about half of her bedtime Bible stories tonight, talking about bad guys (she pointed to Haman in the story of Esther) and Jonah and the fish and getting spitted out, and David and Goliath (she actually said his name & said it correctly, and I was impressed!).
“Noah in da ark, come get in da ark! It started to rain, mmmm-kay. We need to look for da rainbow! And the goodnight prayer says goodnight amen.”
She did much better with bedtime tonight, and I think it’s mostly because she was worn out after her big afternoon lighthouse adventure! I hated to miss out on it, but I’m glad they all had so much fun together!
We only watched about half of Star Wars last night before I started falling asleep on the couch, so we’re going to finish that up tonight, or at least attempt to.
