Emerson woke up at 6am this morning, so I got up with her and we watched “Frozen” on the couch, and I fell back asleep for a while… I think Jeff was a little jealous that Emmie and I both had Chick-fil-A for breakfast yesterday, because he was quick to offer to run out and get breakfast for us from there this morning. And of course I had no objections to that idea!
After breakfast, Jeff went over to do some IT work for his dad’s church, and Emmie and I had a slow morning just playing together in her room for a couple of hours. She got out a million things and made a big mess. But I got her to help clean everything up when we were all done, and the room was looking much nicer again!
After getting the room all cleaned up again, we put all of her babies down for a nap all a row. From left to right, it’s Sophie, Ella, Claire & Lily. We named a couple of them just this morning 🙂
She requested more of her casserole for lunch, and then was very tired and very easy to get back to sleep.
While she napped, I had a grilled cheese and some homemade tomato soup (that I made a few weeks back & froze), and just cuddled up to watch “Pride & Prejudice” on Netflix. It was very homey and cozy, and just the kind of rest I needed. I was feeling tired today, and really enjoyed my lazy morning and part of the afternoon. Emmie only napped for about an hour, but she was still sleepy when she woke up, so she cuddled with me and watched some of my movie together. We were just about as lazy as sloths today, but it was really nice for a change.
Around 4pm, we finally got ourselves dressed, and went out to run a few errands. We stopped into a couple of thrift shops, but didn’t find what we were looking for.
We also stopped into Esposito’s to look for a pot for my newest plant I got about a month ago. I didn’t find a pot (that I wanted to spend so much money on), but we did wander around their grounds out back for a while, and it’s a magical place back there! You’d never realize how much is back there from the front or even inside their store, but it’s so nice out back!
And since we were over on that side of town, we decided to get an early dinner, and try someplace new. So we headed to the other end of the plaza to try out Carlos’ Cuban Grill. Emmie was super thirsty after walking around in the plants for so long, and her hair was a mess from the sprinklers and getting caught on Daddy’s beard, and she just looked so cute and funny.
I ordered the classic Cuban with tostones, and I can’t remember what Jeff got, but it was some sort of shredded pork with sauteed peppers & fresh spinach. His sandwich was good, but I liked mine the best! It was a really good Cuban! I got the half sandwich, and was very full, but you could get double this for the whole!
When we got back home, Emmie helped me clean out the old wax and put in a new fall-scented wax melt. We watched a little bit more of “Brave” which we started last night, and I opened up my Grove box, to find more fall-scented goodies.
We got started on her bedtime routine just a little bit early tonight, since she woke up so early and took such a short nap. She assigned Daddy the sweet bunny book, and I read a story about Pocahontas from our princess story book.
She was super sweet and very easy to get down for bedtime, so I was very grateful for that. Jeff spent a lot of time on some random projects around the house today, while I spent the day just being lazy and hanging out with Emmie. So I was also very grateful for that as well!
While writing this blog post tonight, I started watching the first episode of the series “When Calls the Heart” on Netflix, at the suggestion of my sister, and it seems like it’ll be a cute and cozy little series to watch for a while. Gonna settle in on the couch to rest with my hubby for a little while, then head off to bed soon myself!
