Chicken Minis & Chicken Spaghetti

I treated myself to Chick-fil-A on the way into work this morning, since we were out of bagels, and out of cream cheese, but this was wayyy better anyways.

And Emerson and Nana had Chick-fil-A as well for breakfast!

And then she got busy in the kitchen.

They also went for quite a long walk, and Emerson had quite a few calls to make on her phone while they walked.

After lunch and an almost-two-hour nap, Emmie helped Nana in the kitchen for the afternoon. First, they made a pan of brownies together, with Emmie getting in a few licks while working. And then they worked on a giant pan of chicken spaghetti, for all of us to eat dinner together tonight.

Apparently, Emerson didn’t want the “sauce” on hers, so she and Nana made a tiny “casserole” with just plain wheat noodles and plain chicken, and she got to eat it out of her own pretty little dish. She was so proud of herself and her casserole, and she ate it really well! Who would have guessed one night she’d be eating Indian butter chicken, and the next night plain wheat noodles?! 🙂

She showed me her kitchen after dinner, and then we played around the house a little more. And as we played, she would randomly remember and ask to bring “her casserole” home with us.

We also had brownies and ice cream for dessert and watched a little bit of “Brave,” before heading for home. When we got home, she said she needed to eat some more casserole because she was hungry, and she proceeded to eat quite a few very large bites!

She was a little wound up at bedtime from all the sugar from her “bassert,” so there were lots of gentle reminders to calm down and settle down and sit down, let’s get ready for bed… But since we stayed at Nana & PopPop’s house a little late, and with the slightly amped up night-time routine, it was after 9pm before we got her down. I’m tired and ready to rest, and looking forward to a restful, but productive weekend with my little family!
