Italian Take-out Buffet

After some cereal and a slow morning, we got ready finally around 9:30, and headed out and about. Both girls had very cute hair today, and we also changed Emerson’s earrings for the first time!

Addie specifically requested a pony tail “like Aunt Mae-Mae” and these two clips, and it looks really cute!

Emerson specifically chose this little garnet hair clip to match her FSU shirt, and then chose the spear earrings to go with it as well! It hurt her a little bit to change the earrings (and there were some tears), but she was brave and we made it through. They said we only had to wait three weeks to change them, but we’re gonna wait another week before we try it again.

Our first stop was Wawa for some cheap coffees, and everybody also picked out a mid-morning snack. Addie was having a blast in there, dancing to the music in front of all the food options.

Then she killed this entire container of watermelon in the car.

Another quick trip to Home Depot for the hardware for Addison’s “new dresser,” and they just had to try out some more tractors.

Then we were back to hard work at the house again. Grammy & Papa gave Emerson this little play kitchen for her third birthday, almost five years ago. She’s outgrown it now, and with all the room-rearranging, it was the perfect time to pass it down to Addison. We got it dusted off and moved into her room today, and she is so excited about it! She immediately put on my vintage 90’s Little Mermaid apron, and got busy making bacon and eggs.

And here’s Addie’s finished room! Jeff got the dresser finished up earlier, and we moved it into her room. Last weekend, we had basically only cleaned half of her room, just enough to change out her bed. But today, we got in there and really deep cleaned and put away a bunch of clothes, and rotated out stuff that was too small, and pulled out some hand-me-downs that will now fit her. And it looks amazing in there now!

Nana had come over to help us again today, and even brought some comforter sets that Emmie picked out on Amazon last week, as a prize for doing so well with her braces. She ordered a few to see them in real life and let Emmie choose her favorite. (And Addie may have chosen to keep one for her bedroom as well.)

Jeff left mid-afternoon to go help his dad install a radio thing in his truck, so I spent some time washing up dishes and Nana folded some more clothes. While Nana and Addie were finishing the final touches of reorganizing her closet with a new storage unit, I made a quick run up to the library to pick up two books I had on hold.

And then I came back to find this beautifully organized site in Emerson’s closet!

I made a quick giant iced coffee in my leftover cup from Wawa, using this new creamer I just so happened to find on the Walmart app the other day. I also used the last of my homemade cinnamon brown sugar syrup, and this was gooood. Then we went over to Nana & PopPop’s house for my final birthday meal.

Emerson helped Nana undecorate (the Christmas stuff) and then redecorate her porch tree with Valentine’s Day stuff. And Addison was just happy playing with bubbles!

We ordered an Italian food takeout buffet from Piesano’s, and brought it back to their house to eat a feast for dinner in the comfort of home.

And then followed it up with ice cream and very fancy Publix chocolate cake.

When we got home, Daddy read Addison a book in her cute little rainbow bed, and Emerson was sound asleep with me in no time flat.

I am once again totally exhausted from a very busy day, and very ready to plop down on the couch and put my feet up for a little bit before bedtime.
