Impromptu Family Time

We’ve had such a great Saturday today! One of those long, full, late-night days, where I just throw out all the photos, and move along quickly… Loved these little pinkie Minnie Mouse girls and their sunglasses this morning.

To celebrate the end of kindergarten, we let Emerson pick any place she wanted to eat this weekend. I threw out a list of food types for her to choose, and wouldn’t you know she chose breakfast food, because it’s her favorite! We also had a Cracker Barrel gift card, so that was very helpful. And the food was delish!

I ordered this giant “sampler” plate to share everything with Addie, and she ate literally half of the plate on the right, and even though Emerson ordered her own kids breakfast biscuit sandwich, she still ended up eating at least half of one of my pancakes too. So it was a good thing I ordered such a big plate to share!

Then we spent about an hour just lazing around the living room, playing and making a mess, and I did some online shopping for some random things, and I went ahead and ordered Emerson’s birthday presents, so I’m more than a whole month ahead of time on that!

While Jeff and Addie played a little more, and then cleaned up the living room, Emmie and I cleaned up her bedroom. We also filled up a diaper box full of stuff from her room to donate, and second diaper box of some of my old clothes to donate. (Every time we have an empty diaper box, we now always fill it up with things to donate, trying to de-clutter the house one box at a time…) And then this little girl fell asleep for nap time.

And this little girl did some sticker journaling, and I did some reading.

And Jeff did some car-working. After much research, he found it was a little fuse-box-situation (or something like that), so he actually went to a pick-n-pull place to find a replacement part. But apparently the place was huge and he just had to go out and walk around the whole place, which took forever, and he said he got his 10,000 steps in today, just by walking around that place.

So while Jeff was doing all of that, I took the girls out to Grammy and Papa’s house for some impromptu family time, that kinda just all came together at the last minute today. I forgot Addie’s diaper bag though, so we had to make a quick stop at the brand new Bannerman Publix out there, and it was a very nice store.

Then even though the swimming pool water was still very chilly, we had lots of fun swimming for a while.

Oh and Aaron, Mandy and Asher are in town this weekend, and we all loved hugging on that chubby little squish-boy!

Had some playtime before and after dinner, and the girls were all so sweet together.

And Meg & Bo brought me back this tea from their trip to Hawaii! Meg got obsessed with Hawaiian lattes, which have macadamia nut & coconut flavoring, and so I’m excited to try out this tea soon too.

Addie was too busy stuffing her face with a cereal bar to love Grammy, but girlfriend ate a ton tonight. Actually, all the girls did. Grammy and Papa had made sloppy joes, and all the girls ate like 1.5 sandwiches, plus tons of grapes and chips.

Emerson wanted to show off her room that we cleaned up today, and she even “set” her bed, which is what she always says instead of “make” the bed, which I think is so cute and sweet.

The girls were both exhausted, and Jeff is exhausted, and I’m pretty tired myself too. We all need some good rest tonight, so it’s time to settle down…
