Identical Mugs

My little cuties were as sweet as ever this morning, ready for the day.

We saw the trippies at school drop-off, and Riley shared some of her little sausage biscuit with her 🙂

My friend Heather brought my birthday present into work today, and along with a really nice smelling candle, somehow, she ended up getting me the exact same coffee mug my MIL had just gotten me. Isn’t that wild!?

Jeff had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, so he went to pick up Emerson from school early. They stopped at the gas station for some gas, and ended up with some ice cream too. (I’m really not sure why she looks such a mess, but dang she really was a ragamuffin this afternoon!)

Then they headed back home, to get home just a little earlier than usual, but about halfway there, right after 5pm, he had to turn around and head back to daycare. I was stuck at work about 30 minutes late, but he didn’t have a car seat for Addie in his car, so they just hung out waiting on me to finally get there, closer to 5:45-ish.

And then all three of them were so happy to see me once I finally made it there!

Since we got home so late, I didn’t really want to take the time to cook a real dinner, so I threw together a little hodge-podge, which turned out really good.

Both girls were a mess and needed a bath, so we got them all cleaned up after dinner. While they splashed and played in the bath tub (Emerson now bathes Addison for me, and I just help with hair & rinsing), I put together the 1-second-everyday video mashup for January, which turned out super cute.

They both needed another snack afterwards, so they ate while we all watched “Bluey,” as per our usual routine. Emmie and I then did her book, prayer and lullaby, and these two were snoring away when I came back to the living room.

Jeff has actually gone to bed early already. While I’ve been writing this post, I’ve been watching a Street Food show on Netflix, and the very first place featured was a taco truck in LA specializing in carnitas tacos, which you know are my favorite. And now I’m craving some tacos so bad. I’m going to finish this little 30-minute episode, and then read my Kindle book. I’m hoping to finish it tonight (I’m around 82% now), so that it counts as one of my January books on my book-tracker-app. 🙂
