Addie was so very excited to open up a birthday card this morning she received in the mail. And she was totally shocked when cash came slipping out of it! Thank you, Aunt Jane, for the sweet card and birthday cash, she can’t wait to go shopping 😉

We had a bit of a slow morning (barring a traumatic boo-boo & bandaid situation) and then we worked around the house on a few chores. The girls picked out cute outfits and got themselves dressed around 11am, ready for Nana and PopPop to swing by and pick them up. They took them out for lunch to Chick-fil-A, and then they had fun for a few hours bouncing around at Urban Air!

Jeff and I did a few more things around the house, ate hibachi leftovers (from Thursday) for our lunch, and then hit the town to run a few errands. We donated about 50 pounds of old clothes, grabbed 7Brew drinks, picked up this super cute library book, and then got our Walmart grocery pick-up order.

Then Jeff went to do computer work for an elderly couple who needed some help. I stayed home by myself (which almost never happens), and spent about 30-40 minutes just chillin’ and then about 30-40 minutes cleaning the kitchen and washing dishes while listening to my audio book.
When the girls were done jumping, they actually swung by and picked me up from home late this afternoon, and we went over to their house in Havana. I laid down with Addie in the spare bedroom for a while, trying to get her to nap, but she just wasn’t having any of that! Emerson helped Nana make some chocolate chip cookies while we were resting, and then Addison told Nana she could “help her scrape the rest,” which really just meant she wanted to eat the cookie dough!

While the cookies baked, Nana got things cleaned up in the kitchen, the girls played together in the spare room where their toys and things are (and a few of Nana’s clothes they like to play dress-up with), and I made a cup of coffee and read on my Kindle for just a little bit.

Nana made burgers for dinner, I cut up some fruit, and we had a simple little dinner.

The girls had a bath after dinner, and then we dealt with the same boo-boo/band-aid issue from this morning. She got this at school yesterday morning right at drop-off, hopping down off the little brick wall / wood railing they took their morning sister pics on. It’s a nice long scrape, but it’s not deep. The gauze from the clinic yesterday was kinda stuck on it this morning though, and that was the traumatic issue. The band-aids we put on it this morning though came off way easier in the bath tonight, so that was good. And then we dressed it again tonight after bath, even though it didn’t really need it, but you know how much kids think band-aids are absolutely necessary with these kinds of things…

And then it was time for Emmie’s homemade chocolate chip cookies, and some ice cream for dessert! I made a very thin ice cream sandwich for my treat, since I’m honestly not a huge ice cream fan, and would almost always choose something like cake or cookies over ice cream. But this thin sammich I made with brownie ice cream was good.

Addison of course fell asleep on the car ride home, and I think even Emerson was asleep by the time we made it home.

We did bedtime pretty much as soon as we got home, but had to read a book together first, of course.

Today felt like a good mix of rest, productivity, and family time, and I enjoyed it very much!
