I was a very busy bee first thing this morning, making rice for dinner tonight and getting some sweet & sour chicken going in the crockpot. I refilled the girls’ water bottles, showered, and got myself and Addison both dressed.
Emerson picked out this nice dress to wear today, knowing she didn’t have PE class today, and she looked SO grown up!

I had to go out again at lunch today for another errand, so I decided to get myself lunch out again too. I wanted to get something that I wouldn’t normally get with my fam, so I settled on a bahn mi. But since I know I love the one from Paris Bahn Mi, I wanted to try out a different place for a comparison. So I went to Phở Me and got the pork bahn mi with summer rolls on the side. And although the flavor and taste of the sandwich was good, there was a severe lack of meat and veggie fillings. There was also too much bread for the amount of fillings, making it even more obvious how lean it was. I added sriracha & eel sauce to the peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls, and those were very tasty and fresh.

So tonight was supposed to be gymnastics for Emerson tonight, so that’s why I made the chicken & rice first thing this morning, so we could eat super fast after work and school. But on the way home, Emerson realized she had a LOT of reading to do for homework, so we skipped gymnastics to stay home and read. (Which honestly, that was A-OK with me.) So we had a quick dinner, in which Addie wanted to hold hands with mommy while she ate a few bites. It was very sweet.

Then Jeff and Addie ran to Home Depot real quick, and Emmie and I settled in on the couch together. Their class is all reading “Where the Red Fern Grows” together, which is crazy to me, since I read that book in like, middle school! But she had to read the first three chapters this week, and she had only read about half of one. But we pulled up a YouTube video of a guy reading it (not a professional audio book, by any means, but it’s the link her teacher sent out), and she read along while we listened to it, and I did a word search.

Cute little sleepy bedtime girls holding hands together, as Emmie fell asleep and Addie just laid there smiling like the precious little girl that she is.

Unfortunately, I really need to go wash some dishes now, even though I really don’t want to. But I’m gonna do my little phone in the window sill and watch Survivor while I work, so I can at least be entertained.
