These girls look adorable every day, but there are some days that they just really blow me away, like today. Something about the smile on Addie’s face, and Emerson’s cute ponytail, and the way they look at each other. Oh, it just kills me!
Just look at these girls!!! 😍😍😍
And I loved these little butterfly bikers especially.
Addison had her 15-month appointment this morning, so I treated myself to a sausage, egg & cheese biscuit from the Farm Store, on the way to the doctor’s appointment.
Addie had a good appointment, and did really well getting her shots. But she actually lost 1 pound since her last weigh-in, and her percentile on the growth chart actually went down. So we’re going to try to limit her liquid intake, and make sure she’s eating plenty, and then go back in one month for a weight-check to see how she’s doing.
Jeff said Emerson was clingy and hesitant at drop-off again this morning, but she did eventually gather up all her courage, and walked herself inside like a big girl.
And after Addie’s appointment, she took a quick catnap in the car on the way to school, and then I dropped her off with her friends and teachers for the day.
Back on my normal turkey sammich and garlic hummus kick for lunch. But today I also had a little “Korean cucumber salad” as an extra side to go with it. I wanted to like it more than I actually did, but it was okay… I did however start a new Kindle library book that I’m super excited about. I’ve had this on hold with the library for months already, and my hold finally came through. (This one has been getting tons of hype on “BookTok” and “Bookstagram” lately, and I’ve been dying to read it.)
And Addison had a good day at school!
But you know of course Addison fell asleep on the way home from school as always.
We had pulled pork sandwiches and French fries for dinner, but the prepared Cole slaw I bought was trash, so we didn’t actually eat that. We all taste-tested it, and none of us like it, so we literally trashed it.
We got both girls in the bath tub after dinner and let them splash and play around for a while, and then got them all cleaned up. As is our typical routine, Jeff got Addison dried & dressed in her jammies, while I did the same for Emerson, and got her hair brushed and “scrunched” with some of my curly cream. They had a few minutes of playtime together, before we started on their bedtime routines.
Addison fought us for a little while, but I was able to rock her to sleep in just a few minutes, once we finally started the rocking with the sounds of crashing waves. Emerson needed Jeff to stay in her room next to her bed for a few extra minutes, but she fell asleep pretty easily with him kneeling there, playing calming music.
We’ve already cleaned up from dinner earlier, so I’m going to repaint my fingernails tonight, and we’ll probably find something to watch on Netflix together.
