Today was the lucky day that Frother’s Daughter parked right at my office this morning. So I chose another of the August specials to try out today. I got the Sixbean Candles today, and just like every coffee I’ve ever gotten from them, it was just as delicious as always.

We didn’t get our typical morning sister pics today, but Jeff was able to snap a couple of selfies with the girls in the car drop-off line in the school parking lot.

Love seeing these sweethearts holding hands walking into the school together. This is exactly what I’ve been waiting on forever and it’s so precious!

Jeff picked up the girls again tonight after school, and he treated them to beignet’s (since they had to run in there and use their restroom after school), and then they had dinner at Culver’s.

Meanwhile, I met up with a few friends for a very modified book club, for a girls night out! We had originally schedule it for tonight, but then all the NFC moms had parent night at the school, and we started dropping like flies. So the three of us made alternate plans for sushi instead, and it was a great night! So I met up with Casey & Emmy at Kiku, we ate delicious food, talked a lot about books, and lots of other random things too. Somehow we started talking about how old we felt these days, and so we said we’re practically grandma’s, especially with some of our old-soul-hobbies, like plants, puzzles, books, and canning. So I guess it was actually kinda like Grandma’s Night Out 🤣

We also brought books to share with each other, and recommendations of books to check out from the library, and so by the end of dinner we had piles of books on the table and I loved that part.

Jeff and the girls were already home when I got home, and the girls were in their jammies, and very excited to see me when I got home. Little Addie Pie was helping me with my new puzzle, and we made some good progress, while watching a little pre-bedtime tv show.

OK funny story – she had two friends in daycare back in her GR days, both boys, that were always up to shenanigans and getting her into their nonsense. And then they went to three separate schools for VPK, but now all three of them are back together in kinder. And on day two, one of the boys was already up to his old tricks, and colored alllll down Addie’s finger’s today, and it got all over her little shirt too. Hoping it’s washable, and hoping it’ll come out of her shirt eventually…

And this is the book Emmy brought for me, that she picked out specifically for me, and I can’t wait to read it! I’ve never read anything by this author, but I actually already have 5 or 6 of her books on my “want to read” list on Goodreads. Also, even though I don’t have a subscription to Book of the Month, I’ve thrifted or found in a Little Free Library quite a few through the years, and have a whole section of them, so this adds to that little collection.

Probably gonna head straight back to my puzzle now, until it’s time for bed in a little bit…
