Grand Prix

OK so now let’s get caught up on the weekend back at home…

SATURDAY

We ran all over town Saturday morning, getting breakfast, gassing up the rental van, returning the rental van, picking up Pennie. But before we did any of that, we actually had to unload the van, because we got home so late Friday night, that we left basically everything in the van so we could just head to bed quicker.

Then I took Emerson to a swim party for one of her school friends. It was supposed to be from 12-2pm, but the girls were all having so much fun playing, and the moms were all having so much fun chatting, that nobody actually left until after 4pm!

And then I was exhausted and immediately went home and had a couch nap right away. The rest of the night was spent pretty lazily, just resting up from our busy week.

SUNDAY

Jeff and I were both serving in the worship team today, so we were all at church early this morning.

Then we had a quick lunch at Surchero’s afterwards, followed by a very quick outfit change at home.

Then today was the BGMC Grand Prix that Emerson has been fundraising for! We had six racers and their grown-ups, and combined they all raised over $9,000 to build camp dorms in rural Alaska! Although Jeff and Emmie didn’t win the race, they had a great time, as did everyone! I don’t even know who all of Emerson’s sponsors were, but if you were one of them, THANK YOU so much!!!

We picked up a Walmart grocery order before going home, and some drinks from 7Brew. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the house, because it was a wreck from all of our vacay stuff, and a bunch of clean laundry we had washed before the trip, that needed to be finished up and put away. We got a lot done, and then watched Toy Story 4 (we’ve been working our way through all of them the last couple of weeks or so) while eating dinner.

The girls have been asleep for a while now, and I’ve been on this computer for forrrreverrr… We got a few things prepped and ready for our first day of summer camp tomorrow, and now we just all need some rest!
