Fruit Pizza

Since Emmie had no fever, and her eyes looked normal this morning, we skipped the doctor’s office and went straight to school today. I think she’s just having some allergy problems with all the rainy weather and pollen from last weekend, but she seemed fine this morning. However, we were 30 minutes late to school today, so that meant the triplets were already at school, so we stopped by their rooms for some quick hugs.

Addie’s friends were sitting down for breakfast, and one of them was screaming, and it caused her to get upset, so I stayed a few extra minutes to love on her, and get her calmed down. And then she was ready to start on her breakfast as well.

One of my coworkers brought in this homemade fruit pizza into the office today, and it was soooo good. I had cut this rather thin piece, but I was wishing I had more after finishing this yummy piece. Isn’t it beautiful though!?

We didn’t get any photos of Emerson at school, but these two we got of Addison were very cute and happy!

This afternoon was super stressful at work, and I ended up getting a last minute case to release the inmate on a time-served sentence. So I didn’t get to leave until after 5:30. I had called Jeff around 5pm to tell him I was stuck at work, but that Addie’s car seat was of course still in my car, so no one else could pick her up and drive her anywhere… I told him to just figure it out, since I was gonna be late but didn’t know how late.

The problem was, he realized too late he had left his car keys in my car on accident over the weekend, and he was then stuck at home. So he ended up calling his mom, and she went to pick up the girls, and they just sat in her car waiting on me until I could get there, so they didn’t have to stay too much later than normal. And it also ensured that we didn’t have to pay a late pick-up fee if I couldn’t get there before 6pm. Turns out, I got there literally 2 minutes before, but the girls had been excited to see Nana pick them up, and I was grateful to her for that too, because I know Emerson specifically would have been sad and pitiful if she was the last kid picked up…

Anyways, we had a super simple dinner once we finally made it home, of just chili cheese dogs and tater tots. Jeff absolutely loves chili cheese dogs, and raved as if I had slaved away on something special and homemade, rather than just heated up a few things here & there! 🙂

We all spent a bit of time cleaning up a few things here and there around the dining room and kitchen, and then while I got Addison ready for bed and made her a bottle, Jeff got Emerson some ice cream for her dessert, and took all these next few photos for me 🙂

I kept taking care of Addison, while Jeff took care of Emerson, and changed a bandaid on the booboo on her knee, without too much trouble. Addie fought sleep for a little while, but I won that fight, and got her to sleep eventually.

Then after mild shenanigans with Emerson at her bedtime, we got her down and she finally fell asleep. Jeff washed up a bunch of the dishes earlier while I held Addie and Emmie was eating her ice cream, so that’s mostly taken care of now. I’ve lit my favorite candle, and I’m enjoying the delicious scent, and trying to just have some peace and quiet at the end of a very busy and stressful (at work, at least) day.

I’m still working my way through the most recent episodes of “Call the Midwife,” so once I finish the current episode I started tonight, Jeff and I are going to watch an episode of Home Town, with my Sweet Olive candle from Laurel on the coffee table.
