Frozen Bare Tree

My girls were so sweet and cute this morning, one barefoot and one eating stale Pringles 😉

And I got to see the trippies at school today too, coincidentally wearing dresses I got them for Christmas

And then Emmie had a good drop-off with Daddy, bundled up in her favorite (if too-small) panda hoodie.

Made myself an instant cappuccino with a few Reese’s for a small afternoon treat.

A couple of pictures of Addie from school today.

With that crazy frozen weather we had around Christmastime, we thought our oranges would freeze and ruin. The leaves definitely did freeze and turn brown and die, and literally just today, they all fell off the tree. In years past, even in the winter, it never lost all of it’s leaves. (You can see here last January when we harvested, it was still full and green.) But we tested a couple oranges today, and they were actually not ruined! So we need to harvest this weekend, before they do officially die and we lose the whole harvest… But it definitely looks crazy completely bare like this! And hopefully the tree will recover and not be permanently ruined.

I made a quick, easy dinner tonight of sautéed chicken & onions, with rice & peas. Then the girls had a bath, and after another snack for both of them, we got them ready for bed.

Jeff’s been on a bit of a productivity kick today, washing a couple loads of laundry, putting away clean dishes, washing a few pots & pans, cleaning out the bathtub, and it seems like a few other things I’m forgetting. I’m gonna go wash some dishes now myself, before it’s time to sit down and rest…
