Our worship pastor was out of town today attending a worship conference, so Megan and Mikayla led worship today. I was on praise team today as well, and Emmie wanted to come early with me. She stood with me through the whole vocal team rehearsal, using my left in-ear monitor, while I wore the right one. She sang along with everything and I even let her use my mic for a bit, and she sounded great with the team!
We had a great morning in church and Jeff worked in GC Kids, and it was a good morning. And I loved this new dress I wore today!
Quick lunch at Zaxby’s today after church was really yummy. I love the cobb salad, and today we also got an order of fried pickles with ranch. Funny story – a few years back, they had ads about “fried pickle season,” and that has been a long-standing bit Jeff and I always say about random things, but definitely always about fried pickles. He had walked away when I ordered these and didn’t know, so when he picked up the tray and brought the food to the table, he was like, “Aw yes! I didn’t know it was fried pickle season!”
After lunch, I sat next to Addie singing lullabies and reading my Kindle in the dark until Addie was asleep for nap time. Then I laid down on the couch and fell asleep for a bit of a nap time myself too.
Made myself a little chai latte after nap, and had some time to read while the girls both played on their Kindles. We did a quick 10-minute tidy up in the living room, then got dressed again to head back to church.
Tonight was Connect Group night, and they cook us dinner before hand too and we all eat together. Tonight was Swedish meatballs, which is probably my favorite of all the church meals, so yummy. And luckily, there was enough leftover to to pack a to-go box to have for lunch at work tomorrow.
Of course it was 8pm by the time we got home, so we got right into the whole bedtime routine, with sleepy gummies, jammies, with snuggles and Bluey on the couch.
We’ve already done a few things to set up for a new work week, so I think it’s time to just sit down and relax and watch some tv, before our bedtime later…
