This morning was kind of rough, with the exhaustion from yesterday still hanging on, and the whole “lose an hour of sleep” thing with the spring forward time change. We ended up being about 25 minutes late to church this morning, which actually never happens to us, so that was weird. But then after a good morning at church, our entire family met up at Dreamland BBQ for the triplets’ birthday lunch, since today was their actual birthday! (In order below: Riley, Ellie, Kensley.)
A bunch of their friends from their church also came to lunch (there were like 35 people total!), which meant Emerson’s new best friend Lily was there, and they made sure to sit next to each other again.
After Emerson finished her lunch, she knew exactly who to ask to take her outside to wander around – Uncle Keith! And he sent me these cute photos of her 🙂
I love when she wears her backpack. She just looks like a tiny kindergartner, getting ready to run off to school!
She loves crossing the street to the sidewalk across from our house, and taking a few photos before nap time.
I posted this on my Instagram and Facebook, and these girls are just the cutest, and their beautiful blue eyes just kill me! Here are three of the four blue-eyed beauties…
Can you believe these girls above, started out as these teeny-tiny little premie babies this time last year?! God sure worked a miracle to bring these girls into the world, and he continued working it this past year, keeping them happy & healthy & chunky!
Emerson only slept for about an hour this afternoon, even though I was hoping she would have napped for closer to two hours. So after killing some time at home, we loaded up and headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house.
I love taking portrait-style photos of her under this tree, at the end of walks down their short little street.
And here is our fourth blue-eyed beauty!!
As we walked past one of their neighbors, she was sitting in her front yard harvesting her homegrown lettuce. Emerson walked right up the driveway and stood right in front of her to check it out. She said HI! and the lady talked to her, and handed her a piece of lettuce. Emmie very sweetly said thank you, and then the lady handed her everything she had harvested so far!
So we took the lettuce home, and Emerson helped Nana wash the lettuce, and then we put it in our salad for dinner!
She picked up these pot-holders and announced, “I’m a cooker!”
Megan sent me these photos of the girls, playing with the little tea set, which is what we got them for their first birthday. It seemed only fitting that their first tea set should come from ME, since I love hot tea and I host our annual tea party every year, right!? And they love it!
Tater was super sweet and cuddly at bedtime, and after reading a few small books, we did prayers and lullabies, and she was ready to go to sleep.
It’s been a great, busy weekend, but I’m still just absolutely beat (being sick can really zap you, huh?). So I’m going to cuddle up with my hubby on the couch for a little bit, and then head to bed soon. Night, friends!
