Firetruck Roundup & Date Night

We’ve had such a very fun, very busy day today! It’s almost 10pm and I’m just now starting this post, so I’m going to do one of my typical photo dumps without a bunch of writing, and just let the photos do all the talking. This morning, we met Megan and the triplets, and their old nanny and friend Kayla, and went to the firetruck roundup at Tom Brown Park!

After we did the firetruck activities, we walked back down to the playground area, and let the girls run wild. I sat under the pavilion with Addison (it was SO HOT), so we only have this one photo Meg took on the see-saw. I know Emmie was pumped for this, because last time we brought her by herself, she wanted to do this so bad, but she couldn’t do it by herself, so it was perfect being there with the triplets!

We picked up some pizza and had a picnic all together for lunch, before we loaded up and parted ways. Oh, and the Frother’s Daughter coffee truck was at the park, so we got iced lattes, and this dirty chai latte was my favorite of hers yet.

We did nap time and quiet time and a bottle once we got home, and just rested for a little while. But then Jeff and I worked on a bunch of chores – vacuuming, laundry, folding, tidying, dishes, etc – and Emerson read some books to Addison in her swing.

Until she randomly decided to put on her leotard, and show us some moves…

Addison turned 5 months old earlier this week, and she just getting so big so fast! She’s moving up into some bigger clothes, and drinking bigger bottles, and doing really super well sleeping in her own crib at night. She started trying some puree’s this past month, but wasn’t very interested in them, so we’re not pushing it. And I still think her very favorite person is her sister Emerson 🙂

Cute little light-up pumpkins my MIL got for me!

Grammy and Grandmommie came over late this afternoon to take care of the girls. And they had such a great time hanging out together!

And while the girls had Grammy & Grandmommie to “babysit” them, Jeff and I went out for our anniversary dinner date night! We had a hard time deciding where we wanted to go, because I wanted to try something new, and kinda fancy, but all the places just seemed a little too fancy (and too expensive), so we ended up at one of our stand-by favorites, Harry’s, and it was definitely the right choice. Everything was perfect and amazingly delicious!

Salmon dip for the appetizer, crab-crusted redfish royale for our shared entrée, and Oreo beignets for dessert. And good grief is this wasn’t just all incredible!

We got back home right around 8pm, so we did bedtime with the girls (Emmie’s bedtime was super rough and took a very long time), but we made it through, and got both girls in bed eventually, but it was 9:30pm before that happened.

Both are sound asleep now and doing fine, and it’s pretty much my bedtime now as well! It was a great day, but we’re exhausted!
