Family Lunch & Playtime

So the RMH isn’t providing hot cooked breakfast right now during covid stuff, and Emmie didn’t want milk and cereal today, so she chose chips instead. She ate almost half a can of cheddar Pringles, because that was just not a battle I wanted to fight with her!

We don’t have cable at home, so there’s so many shows she’s never seen. Today, she watched “Blue’s Clues” for the first time, which was perfect to play with her new “Blue’s Clues” book she got in one of her gifts yesterday.

After a little bit of a lazy morning, 2nd got dressed and ready to go. Grammy got her this dress at Walmart yesterday, and although it is a size too big, she insisted on wearing it today. It was adorable, but this 3T was definitely too big for our teeny tiny girl.

My second cousin (or maybe third? I don’t know how it works) Sydney and her family live here in Jacksonville, and she invited us to their house for lunch and playtime today. Their youngest son Roman is 4½, and he and Emmie had lots of fun playing together. She was running around like wild, laughing and giggling, and her little hair was just so sweaty and curly in the humid hot air.

Thank you so much for inviting us over Sydney! We really enjoyed seeing y’all, and getting to be with family, and getting out of the RMH for a while! We love y’all!

We came back to the “who-tell” after playtime, and I got to lay down in the bed with Emmie and we took a nap together. We slept for a little over an hour, and then it was time for our playground reservation. (Only one family is allowed at one time, so we have to make reservations.) But she had it all to herself, and she had a blast!

Dinner tonight was McDouble’s and fries for everyone. We ate in our usual spot, and Emerson had a few bites of a melty chocolate donut for dessert. She was in need of a bath for a second night in a row after all of her playing and sweating today, plus the sticky donut, so she went straight in the tub after dinner. And then she got to open two more presents! These were from Sydney and her family (the tiny Moana hut set) and Aunt Suzanne and Uncle Keith (the super soft & super cute Pua, also from Moana), that they all purchased while at Disney this past week! And of course she loved all of it!

We did four books and two snacks for bedtime, and then we forced her to sleep in her crib in our room tonight, instead of in Grammy’s bed with her. Last night, she was up until almost 10pm, her and Grammy both fell out of the bed at different points, and then she woke up at 5:45am. So clearly she wasn’t sleeping too well. She wasn’t happy about having to sleep in her crib (the bedtime routine was definitely a battle, and took about 45 minutes), but I think she’s asleep now, and I’m hoping and praying she sleeps
