Family Fall Farm Day 2022

Some of us don’t reap the benefits of “fall back” time change, and were awake with their two girls at 5:30am… so by 6:30, we were already halfway through Moana, mostly having lots of good cuddles.

Then around 7:30 I woke up Jeff, and then I laid back down for an hour nap. Then it was breakfast time for the girls, before we headed off to church.

Jeff actually stayed home with a migraine, but a friend stopped us on the sidewalk and offered to take our picture, since we were kinda coordinated in our maroon dresses.

We kicked off missions month at church this morning, and had a great worship service and Emmie said they also learned about missions in GC Kids as well.

We had some leftover pizza at home for lunch after church, and I got both girls down for their naps, and eventually I fell asleep on the couch as well. When both girls woke up afterwards, the three of us all cuddled on the couch watching “Bluey.” I loved these tiny little curls on the back of Addie’s head, all lined up in a little row…

Our church connect group was meeting up at Aunt Louise’s farm tonight. It ended up being mainly our family, Meg, Bo & the trips, and just a handful of other folks. The farm wasn’t  super busy tonight either, so we basically had the run of the place, and it was so nice. It wasn’t chaotic and crazy like when we went last year, and although it was hotter than we would have liked, we had a great time.

The girls were both starving by the time we left (even though it was only 5:45, and they had popcorn & lemonade at the farm, and bbq baked lays in the car), so we stopped at Hardee’s in Monticello for a quick bite to eat.

On the way home, Addison was a little fussy, so Emmie asked me to put our lullaby playlist on the radio. I told her that I put it on shuffle, and this was our conversation following:

-Emerson: Shuffle? For real?

-Mommy: Yeah, I hit shuffle.

-Emerson: Daddy, did she hit shuffle?

-Daddy: Yeah she hit shuffle.

-Emerson: For real?

-Mommy: Yeah, that’s what I said, why would I lie?

-Emerson: I don’t trust you… (This alone made Jeff and I both crack up.)

-Mommy: What? Why?? Where do you come up with this stuff?

-Emerson: Phoebe Thunderman (This sent me over the edge. It’s from a show she watches on Disney about a superhero family, and it was so funny to us.)

Emerson actually ate her entire cheeseburger for dinner tonight, but she still had some room left for kettle corn, for her pre-bedtime snack. And of course I dove right in with her, since popcorn is my favorite snack ever, and good kettle corn like this is the best kind.

Addie Pie could barely hold her little eyes open by 7:30, and fell asleep with Daddy super easily, while Emmie-cille and I read her books and such and got her ready for bed.

Today was a great day, and I’m ready for a little bit of rest now, before starting another week tomorrow. At least we will end this upcoming week with a 3-day weekend!
