Emerson’s VPK Graduation!

We had such a big, exciting day today – Emerson graduated from VPK at our beloved Growing Room! So since we have tons of pictures today, I’m gonna keep my writing to a minimum… Quick drop-off at school this morning…

And we got lots of pictures of Addie today, so here are just a few of them.

Then I got off work very early today, picked up Emerson and met the family for a celebratory lunch at Momo’s. And everyone brought her presents, fun things and big girl things and special, sentimental things and cute things.

My bestie Britteny, and Emmie’s bestie Elly also joined us for lunch and graduation today, and they were so sweet together.

So glad Aunt Meggie was able to give Emmie such a cute, fancy hairstyle for her graduation today.

She always wants to share Mommy’s special “sprays,” so I got her one of her own as part of her gift.

After lunch, we headed down to TRBC, I dropped her off with her teachers in the back, and then waited for the ceremony. And the ceremony was so super cute! They sang adorable songs, and said the Pledge of Allegiance. They also shared baby photos of each kid, alongside a new photo, with them holding the placard of what they wanna be when they grow up. Emmie has said lots of different things over the years (doctor, nurse, heart doctor, little-kid-doctor, teacher), but this was the first time I’ve heard she wanted to be a police officer!

SO VERY incredibly proud of this beautiful girl!!! She is extremely smart, impressively well-spoken, gentle, caring, silly, loving, and so many  more things. I’m so proud to be her Mama!

One of our favorite teachers, Miss Jessica. (Emmie had her when she was two years old, and for most of this year in VPK as well.)

And Emmie’s lead teacher this year, Mrs. Cynthia, who we also love.

We decided to treat her to some special ice cream afterwards at Lofty Pursuits, and there ended up being 3 or 4 of her little friends & their families there as well.

Java Jive (chocolate coffee) ice cream for me – so delicious.

We went back to pick u Addison after that, and stopped to see this cute little photo display outside Emerson’s classroom.

We all took short little late-afternoon naps when we got home, which was so nice in the dark house, with the rain outside. And then I reheated last night’s pot roast. I had left it in the crockpot until about 10pm, let it cool for a bit, and then picked up the entire crockpot liner and sat everything in the casserole dish to put in the fridge. I reheated it tonight for dinner, and it was really good. Last night was certainly frustrating, but I was able to salvage the meal, so I didn’t have to kill my husband 😉

We had lots of good playtime after dinner, and just hung out in Addison’s room for a long time, doing all the things. Emmie set up this little “photo spot,” and we played “photographer and assistant,” and she put each of the stuffed animals in this spot, and made me take a picture of about 10 different stuffy’s like this.

You can’t tell from a still photo, but they were dancing together at this point, to the music from one of Addie’s toys.

Emmie’s hair was absolutely crazy when we took her braids out, but she was so sweet and precious at bedtime, wanting to read her new kindergarten book from Grammy and Papa.

Both girls were still very tired tonight after our schedule was thrown off today, so they actually both fell asleep pretty easily tonight. I’ve got some dishes to wash and clean up the kitchen a little bit, so I’m going to put my earbuds in and listen to my audio book, and get some work done, while Jeff is helping someone do some computer work remotely.

Today was a great day, and I love my little family, and our big extended family and friends, and I’m so thankful for all of the blessings in my life. And again, I’m so proud of my little VPK graduate!!
