Emerson’s First School Field Trip!

We had ourselves a VERY big day today, so let’s get into it! I took the day off work, then dropped off both girls at school (Emmie was so excited she ran away without a photo), and then had a rare solo-dining-out experience, by getting a quick breakfast sandwich & latte at Panera.

And Addie had a great day at school!

Then I drove myself out to Wakeenah, to meet the kindergarten classes at Aunt Louise’s Farm, for their first kindergarten field trip! (I wish the parents would have been allowed to ride the bus too, but the upside of driving my own car, meant we got to leave on our own straight away at the end of everything.)

They kept all the kids separated in their classes, and we rotated around to all the different areas at the farm, and we had such a great time! I had a few of Emmie’s little friends clinging to me too since their moms weren’t there, and they were all so sweet.

My sweet girl was holding hands with the sweet special needs boy, just making sure he was there with them for the class photo. So precious.

This is Emmie’s little bestie, and her mom came today to, and we had a good time walking around with the kids and chatting with each other as well.

Everyone packed lunches and ate together on the picnic tables after going to all the stations.

We were able to sign the kids out for the rest of the day if we had driven, so we did that and just went on our merry way. I wanted to check out this cute coffee shop I’ve had in a “coffee shops” list in my Google maps app, in downtown Monticello, so Emmie and I had ourselves a sweet little coffee date together. Then we walked across the street to a thrift store, where she picked out this little comic book for a whopping 27 cents.

I took tons of videos again today, and made this super cute little TikTok compilation of our field trip and coffee shop date. I love how it turned out!

Then we stopped at a few other thrift stores around town, looking for specific books, and a new desk lamp for my office (none of which we found today), before finally picking up Addison from school a little early and heading back home.

After about an hour or so at home, once Jeff was off work and signed out for the day/weekend, we picked up some Chinese food and headed over to take dinner to Jeff’s parents (His dad had surgery earlier this week, so we wanted to check up on them.) Oh, and Emmie picked out this tie dye unicorn hat at thrift store today, and changed her shirt to match.

We stayed and played and chatted for a while, then got the girls in their jammies so we could head on back home. We immediately started getting them ready for bed, since it was so late by the time we got home, and I didn’t take anymore photos for the night.

I’m so tired after such a big day, but we had so much fun, and I’m so glad I was able to go with Emmie on her first field trip!
