Emerson’s Butterfly Birthday Party

Just had to throw this photo in first, to go with the title, and because she’s so adorable!

We had a quick breakfast at home, then immediately started getting dressed and ready and packed up. And little sister was looking ultra cute today, with her hat and sunglasses.

And little baby sister was extremely cuddly with Grammy when we got out to their house. She went straight to her, and stayed cuddled up like this for like 10-15 minutes. And then she turned around and sat in her lap for another 10 minutes.

We all took turns eating lunch, then Grandmommie got Addie down for a nap, and the rest of us worked to finish setting up and getting everything ready for Emerson’s 6th butterfly birthday party!

In addition to 3 triplets, and 7 or 8 little friends from school and camp and church, Emerson also invited her favorite teenager from church, who works in GC Kids, who Emerson is just totally obsessed with. And I thought it was so sweet and special that she came and stayed and swam the whole party with all those little girls!

So remember the octopus army I was gifted last week? Emerson gave one to each of the girls that came to her party today, and they were such a hit. We saved the bigger ones for Emmie & Addie, and the medium ones for the triplets, and the tiniest ones were given to friends. But there were so many tiny ones, the all five of our girls got a tiny one too, so they ended up with two each, and all five of them carried them around the rest of the night. You can see them sitting on the table at dinner there too. Thank you again, Jeanne, for sharing such cute little friends!

After all the little friends left, the family all stayed for a simple family dinner. I made that mac salad last night, and mom had a dill pickle cheese ball, then we had a giant sandwich bar with all the breads, meats, cheeses & fixin’s, plus chips.

We technically did a “fiver” party today, and asked her friends to just bring her a cute homemade card, with an optional $5. We stole this idea from a school friends’ party, and we loved it, and it worked out really good today, and she got lots of very cute homemade cards, and actually racked up some cash. So now I’ll take her on a little shopping trip sometime, and help her have a little lesson about how money works. But the family still got her some sweet little presents, and she loved opening them up. Plus, I gave her the giant stuffed strawberry tonight too, which of course she loved too!

All of the little girls took turns getting a bath after dinner, and into their cute little nightgowns. The trippies headed out shortly after, but Emmie needed to stay a little bit longer. This picture is blurry and weird, but they were all singing a sweet little song together, and it was just very precious.

Today was a great day, and the party went so well! We were so very thankful it didn’t rain, and that so many sweet little friends and and our family were all able to celebrate my sweet Emmie!

Now, Jeff and I are gonna load up on the ibuprofin (because we’re so tired and so sore), and then promptly pass out. Tomorrow is Emerson’s actual birthday, so tomorrow will be another great day!

And of course I had to make a cute TikTok of the party today!
