Cutie little baby sister had drop-off on her own with Daddy today, and they skated in right before the bell rang and they were about to close the entry gates.
And Emerson and I went to Gilchrist for the annual “Donuts with Grown-Ups” event. It’s literally just plain Krispy Kreme donuts and black coffee out on their patio, but it meant 20 extra minutes in the car, and then 20 extra minutes in the donut line, with my first girly 🙂

I picked up both girls again after work and school, and put in an online order from Barrio Burrito Bar. Jeff picked up my order for me, and met me at church, then I ate in my car before going in for worship team rehearsal.

While I was at rehearsal, Jeff took the girls to Steak n Shake for a quick dinner before church. Crazy enough, Emerson wrapped her retainers in a napkin and left them on the table. She didn’t even realize it until after church two hours later, in a straight panic. We searched the car, just in case, but then Jeff went back to check just in case. And literally by the grace of God, they were still sitting there on the table in the exact same spot. So we really owe it to them for not properly wiping down their tables! And this probably scared her enough for those 20 panicked minutes, that it probably won’t happen again…

We all said “thank you Jesus!” about five times when Jeff texted that he found them, since we had gone on home. It was immediately bedtime when we got home and my girls were very tired. After lots of sweet loves and cuddles, they were both asleep very quickly.

After a few days of side-ish/back pain whenever I moved or twisted or stood up, I used ChatGPT last night and diagnosed myself with a strained QL muscle (quadratus lumborum) which runs from your hip to the bottom of your ribs. The peak soreness is days 2-3 (yesterday was day 3), and it should feel almost completely better by day 7. Chat also gave me some stretches to do (which I’ve been doing), and confirmed that the heating pad was a good move. And today, I actually do feel a little better! So hopefully after a few more days I’ll be back to normal.
