Daddy Daughter Day!

If you can believe it, I was ready super early again today, with more than enough time to make myself and egg & cheese bagel. And my little friend with her crazy bedhead helped me eat it again today too 😉

Jeff took the day off work to take care of Emerson today, so they had a Daddy-Daughter day all day today! And they both reported tonight that they had fun and a good day.

You’d never guess that she asked for another sausage, egg & cheese McGriddle again today, would you? Jeff said she ate half for breakfast and the other half for lunch.

And then of course she wanted to go for her morning trip to the park down by our house!

After eating the other half of her McGriddle for a late lunch, Jeff got her down for a late nap. He said she slept for about an hour and a half or more. Once she woke up, they cuddled together on the couch together for a while, watching videos. They ran a few late afternoon errands, and then they got home just a little bit after I got home from work.

I made Indian Butter Chicken for dinner. I’ve made this plenty of times before, but it turned out goooood tonight. (If you’ve never made it before, but like Indian food, or just want to try it out, this really is a super easy recipe, with mostly normal ingredients, and only one special harder-to-find ingredient, but it’s sooo worth it.) While I was cooking, I told Emerson, “I made a different kind of chicken and rice tonight. You have to try at least two bites, and if you don’t like it, you can eat something different.” Then she saw me getting out the large white bowls, and she said she wanted a white bowl her size too.

But would you believe she loved it??? I was so shocked! She stuck her little finger in the sauce, and declared it was “super good,” and then went to town eating it! I had started her off with just the tiniest little bit,  but I quickly got her a much larger serving, and she ate it right up! She even tore up her naan and used it to scoop it up. She ate every bite!

We had a little bit of playtime after dinner before her bedtime, and she played with babies and made us things in her kitchen. For dessert, she said she made me a cheese & orange sandwich with a French fry on the side. She also made herself a bowl of cheerios, and ate them dry with a spoon 🙂

We had lots of fun and giggles and tickles and playtime right before bedtime. We had a really sweet little family time, and it was good for my heart and soul to just laugh and be silly with my hubby and baby. She picked the cute “Teeny Tiny Ghost” for Daddy to read, and I read Belle’s story from our 5-minute princess story book, while she hugged and rode “Dana” the dino, who she just named tonight.

We had a few minor issues getting all the photos uploaded to the blog tonight, but once we finally jumped that hurdle, things went more smoothly. I rinsed out all the super messy dishes from tonight, but they’re gonna have to wait for the “real” washing tomorrow, because I’m pooped, and I just wanna sit down and rest now!
