Addison headed back to school today, and Emerson spent the day with Grammy and Grandmommie, while Jeff and I had to go back to work…
They met us at daycare for a big sister switch off, and Addie was excited to get some loves and hugs too.
My blog doesn’t like HEIC photos from iPhone’s, and I can’t get the HEIC pics from mom to open in my photo editor tonight. So I can’t share the pics she sent of Emmie from their day together. Oh well, imagine her feeding the deer in the front yard, and helping Grammy pack away tons of Christmas clearance she got from the Dollar Tree for next years’ Operation Christmas Child project.
Before work this morning, I threw frozen chicken breasts and a few sliced onions into the crockpot, and then doused it all with a bottle of teriyaki sauce. It just needed to be shredded up when we got home, and I added a little cornstarch slurry to thicken up the sauce again. Plus a giant pot of jasmine rice, and two bags of steam-able broccoli, and we were ready to go.
Emerson was having a sleepover with Grammy tonight, so it was just five of us for dinner.
Addie putting the fake S&P on her plate, as usual.
After dinner, I got all the leftovers put away (we still had enough for two take-out-style containers), and cleaned off the counter top. I salvaged the best parts and pieces of the green onions I had that were on their way out, and put them in a jar of water to extend their life a little bit.
Plus I lit a really cozy scented candle that I’m loving lately. It’s from Walmart, and I think it’s called Creamy Cashmere or something like that, and I love it. I also have the wax melt version of this same scent in my Scentsy warmer right now, when I got them both on clearance at Walmart last week.
Jeff and Ryan worked together to fix the started in our old Avenger, and successfully got it fixed and running again. So thankfully, that means we’re back to a two-car family again, which makes things infinitely easier.
Meanwhile, Gabe, Pennie and Addie hung out together watching Bluey, while I was doing all the kitchen work, and starting up a load of laundry.
Jeff is going to work on getting Addison down for bedtime now that he’s gotten cleaned up from the shower after working on the car. I’m still watching “The Holiday” tonight, so I think maybe I’ll work on my nails and watch a little more…
