Coincidental Orzo

Today was fall photo day for the girls at school. So we tried to put them in coordinating outfits, and Emmie took a shower this morning before school, so her hair would (hopefully) be perfect for pictures.

And Addie was wearing a fancy church-outfit, and looking so pretty!

Made delicious avocado toast at the office for breakfast today. I’m planning to have it again tomorrow, and I’m already excited about it. I like it when the bread is super toasty and crunchy. Only wish I could have had a fried egg on top too!

I walked down to Meg’s building again for lunch today, and it was another absolutely beautiful day, to walk all of 1.5 blocks outside 😉 She was gonna come to me and eat on our picnic tables, but one of our departments was having a big ole party out there, and we didn’t wanna get up in all that hoopla. So I brought our two bowls of turkey sweet potato chili back down to her cafeteria again, and we both loved the chili, and we had a great time as always!

The girls had good days at school, and Emmie said their pictures went well. (That remains to be seen, once we actually get them back, but hopefully she’s right!)

Tonight I made lemon chicken orzo soup for dinner, and it was soooo good! I’ve made this only once before, and in a crazy coincidence, it was exactly two years ago, on 11/9/19. Isn’t that crazy?!

And Addison LOVED the orzo! I had scooped up a little pile of it to cool down for her, and I had to scoop her up another spoonful, because she ate all of it and wanted more!

After dinner, we got Addison in her jammies and sleep sack, and then Emerson was in charge of her baby sister (on a pile of clean, semi-folded laundry) while I made a bathroom run and put my hair up,

Once I handed her off, Jeff got her down to sleep in literally like, 15 seconds in his patented Daddy-sleeper-hold.

Emmie had a snack and watched a little bit of a movie, and then her and I went back to her room together to go through the bedtime routine. Can you even handle this pose and this precious girl!? I cannot!

I grabbed Addie so Jeff could go do his portion of the bedtime routine with Emmie, and I got some good snuggles for myself.

We just barely woke her up to give her one more bottle before bedtime, and now she should sleep the whole rest of the night, until we all wake up tomorrow morning. I have some dishes and bottles to wash, so I’m gonna try t o knock all that out really quickly, and then settle down to rest and relax a little bit.
