Java, Java, Java

It was quite a chilly morning, but with the time change, we were very glad to see the sunshine again in the morning before school!

I love the face Emmie is making, and I love how Addie is looking up at her sister!

I’ve started digging through the bin of Emmie’s old clothes the next size up now for Addie, so she’ll be wearing a few “new” outfits the next couple of weeks. That little pop of blue at the top of her shirt makes her blue eyes pop so beautifully!

My work friend always requests that her best friend make this chocolate chip java cake for her birthday every year, and then she always generously brings us a piece to share. She brought this in this morning, and this coffee cake was so good with my morning coffee!

Coincidentally, I also also kinda accidentally made my own coffee & tea bar at my office today. I finally had the idea to bring in my own coffee stuff for the afternoon’s instead of bringing my jar of cold coffee every afternoon. So I started adding stuff to my Walmart grocery pickup for last weekend, and just got a little carried away! I added a few of each coffee to our communal Keurig coffee bar at the office, and then kept the rest for me 😉 I had the chai latte this afternoon, and it was delicious. The title of this post is a nod to Lorelai Gilmore, and her love of “coffee, coffee, coffee.”

Oh, and the bag of hot tea is from my Grandmother and my Papa!

I walked down to my sister’s office building to have lunch in the cafeteria there with her today. I pulled out my entire tub of hummus and the whole bag of baby carrots, to show that I was “pulling a Megan,” since she always brings full packages of things, only for her to then pull out her entire package of salami, an entire package of cheese, and an entire tub of yogurt. So yeah, it’s her thing. (Neither of us finished everything we brought, but we saved it for another day.)

It was a beautiful day!

Pictures from the school of my girls…

And Addie was hanging out in this bouncy seat right by the door when we got there to pick her up!

But she was exhausted, and fell asleep on the way home, and stayed asleep in her seat, so I left her in her room, and I watched her on the baby camera while I cooked. Jeff had gone out to dinner with a friend from work, so I had the girls by myself, but Emmie was a huge helper, and everything went very smooth, thankfully.

I got a pot of turkey & sweet potato (beanless) chili simmering on the stove, and then woke up Addie and fed her a bottle while it kept on simmering away.

This was only the second time I’ve made this, but it turned out so super good. The first time I made it was back when I had gestational diabetes, and I made it since it’s pretty low-carb. But the flavors and the sweet potato texture are all just so good, and I loved it! And so did Emerson! We both cleaned our bowls!

Emmie loved to put a ton of cheese, sour cream and oyster crackers in hers. I liked it both with and without all the extras, but I mostly ate it just “plain.”

And even little baby Addie had herself a little chunk of sweet potato for dinner!

I had just enough leftover for two more (large) bowls, so I texted Meg to see if she wants some, and I’m gonna meet up with her again tomorrow, and bring her lunch!

We did jammies and playtime for a while after dinner…

This girl has started pushing up into the crawling position on her own. She can already do this funny little backward scoot situation, and spin around in circles. She’s gonna be even more on the move any day now!

Emerson tried a lemon head from her Halloween candy, and thought she liked it at first, but ended up spitting it out after about 30 seconds.

Jeff got home right before bedtime, she he helped out with Addie while I put Emmie to bed, and then we switched so he could love on Emmie, and I could cuddle Addie for a while before laying her down in bed too.

He’s getting a head start on all the dishes for me (there were quite a few built up from the weekend), and then I’m gonna go take over and finish up now that I’m finishing up this post.
