Clean & Cozy

Since Jeff still wasn’t feeling well this morning, I was in charge of all the things and all the girls again this morning all by myself. So I made the coffee, washed Addie’s cups for school, took the trash & recycle cans to the road, showered & dressed myself, dressed both girls, and then took them both to school. I was feeling quite accomplished! (But I was 30 minutes late to work… scheduling-wise, there’s just no way to get them both to school, and myself to work by 8am, but that’s fine, it’s not a big deal.)

While Emmie was getting dressed in my room this morning, I said something about trying to decide what I wanted to wear, and she was like, “You should wear something clean and cozy.” Which I thought was great (and adorable) advice. It was chillier outside today than yesterday, but we were bundled up and ready!
For lunch today, my work unit went out on our bi-monthly lunch bunch excursion. Today was our last month with my bestie Heather, now that she was promoted into a new unit, and coincidentally, it was actually her month to choose the restaurant. She chose Maria Maria Mexican because she wanted to try it. I was actually the only one of the 8 of us who had been before, but it’s one of my favorite places in town. I got the fajita quesadilla lunch special with queso, chips & a drink, and it was super yummy.
Addie Pie at school with her friends…
Jeff had taken the day off work today, but he was still not feeling great tonight. He hadn’t eaten anything other than crackers and Powerade, and just wanted to try a PB&J for dinner. So instead of trying to cook a normal meal for the four of us, I kinda just scrounged up some random stuff for each of us, without too much effort, while Jeff took the girls out to play for a little bit.
Quick video call with the brothers to say hi (Jeff was wearing the noise-cancelling headphones to help with his headache) towards the end of dinner, as we were finishing up.
I did start a new puzzle the other night, but didn’t get a chance to work on it last night. This is as much as I could do a few nights ago, because it took forever just to get all the pieces separated and laid out! What you can’t see, is the four little tray-drawers all around the puzzle table, that are packed from edge to edge with all the pieces. The pieces are also super tiny. This one is gonna take a while.
Bedtime went smoothly for both girls, Jeff is already snoring away (finally feeling a little better now too), and so I’m going to get some popcorn, and watch this true-crime murder mystery documentary on Netflix and work on that puzzle.
