Circa 1996

These were some very smiley girls this morning for pre-camp sister pics! Easy drop-off today, and sweet little girlies.

In the middle of the day, I had to take extra time off work to go to Gilchrist to sign up for after school care. Apparently that program is still functioning like circa 1996 instead of 2026, and not only do we have to go in person, but we have to fill out paper forms (one per kid with allllll the info listed) that we can’t even print online ahead of time. It was obnoxious to do it this way this year, since they normally just have these forms during orientation.

But since I was out and about, I just took an extra hour of leave and extended my lunch hour to two hours. So I ran to Home Goods to see if they had any Hobbry puzzles, and although they did have a nice selection of lots of good puzzles and brands, none of the ones I was looking for.

And then I just stepped right next door to Thai Kitchen Cuisine for lunch. I LOVE their chicken noodle bowl and hadn’t been there in a while, and it was just as delicious as always. Sadly, I noticed the price has gone up from the first time we went four years ago, but that’s true of every restaurant, so you really can’t fault them for that. And still, the lunch portion is only like $13 (up from $9), and comes with a soup or salad too, so that’s still a really good deal!

We had a busy, exciting night at church tonight, with water night for the kiddos, Jeff and I both serving on worship team, play rehearsal for Emmie’s Wednesday night girls’ group, and share night from our Nicaraguan-mission team who went earlier this month. So once we made it home, Emerson wanted to hop in the shower real quick and we got Addison in her jammies, and then they both snuggled up in my bed with Pennie for bedtime.

OK, now I need to try to get myself to sleep at a good time tonight, because I have to be up even earlier tomorrow than usual. I’m going on a little “field trip” to one of our reception centers (prisons) tomorrow with some of my coworkers, and we’ve got to be at the office super early to hit the road. This will actually be my first prison visit, after working at DOC for almost 16 years now, so that’ll be super interesting!
