Cheese & Crackers

Look at this super cute new outfit! This is of course another super inexpensive TJ Maxx find that’s been in her closet for a while. The shorts are actually still a little bit big on her, but we just went with it anyways. Also, she randomly decided to pick up & investigate a single piece of pine straw this morning, so that’s what she’s doing in these photos.

I just love the back of this little top though!

Lunch today was leftover Indian Butter chicken, with an abundance of fresh cilantro. Sooo good. Plus naan & a library book. Yum!

After a normal morning in her new class, Emmie spent a little time this afternoon in her old classroom with Ms. Kristin, because of staffing ratios, but it looks like she was fine with that arrangement for a little bit!

I finished my audiobook just a little bit after getting home. This was my second “read” and I still loved it just as much the this time around. Five out of five stars. I can’t wait to hear this author speak in Thomasville next month!

While dinner was cooking, Emmie had cheese and crackers for a snack, and we played a little bit together.

For dinner, I baked some parmesan-crusted chicken I found at Publix the other day, from their Aprons selections. I’ve never tried their stuff before, but I figured it was worth a shot! I made a Zatarain’s box of rice pilaf (which I loved) & bagged bacon & bleu cheese salad, and it was all really good! It was something out of my “normal” meal schedule, so that was a nice change.

And little miss asked for Play-Doh after dinner, so apparently that’s becoming part of our routine, for at least this week!

She wanted both of us to make baby bottles, and she was excited about them. Who wants to guess which one of us made which bottle?

Practicing sitting on the potty. She’s getting more comfortable on it (she sits on her own sometimes & doesn’t scream), but she still hasn’t actually done anything on it.

She’s also completely fine in the bath tub these days too, so things have been sooo much better on that front as well.

And who would have guessed she wanted cookies on the couch before bedtime?! Haha 😂

She was really sweet and lovey-dovey and easy at bedtime, so I was able to put her down in her bed really quickly. Last night, she woke up around midnight, and didn’t want to go back in her crib. She made daddy hold her pretty much the rest of the night in the living room recliner, and then by 5am she was wide awake. So we’re praying that doesn’t happen again and that we all get to sleep through the night!

I started a new audio book while cleaning everything up tonight. This one is about the Los Angeles city library (there are 73 branches!!!), and the fire in 1986 that destroyed thousands of books, among other library-ish things. Should be interesting!

Jeff was doing more yard work again tonight (seriously, it never ends during the Florida summer), So he’s getting cold off and cleaned up now, and then we’ll probably watch some TV together and fold a load of laundry for bedtime.
