Chain of Parks Art Festival

You guys, my blog is finally back! It was down for about 9 days, and as much as I enjoyed the little break this past week, its good to be back to our regularly scheduled programming 🙂 I made a little collage of each day that I missed blogging, so here’s one quick, list-style paragraph about each day we missed…

Last Friday: had the day off work, went to the library, got a taro boba bubble tea, had dinner with Jeff’s parents on Ryan’s last night with us, at Tour of Italy, and had the biggest plate of chicken parm ever (of which I could only eat half), and we went to Good Friday Night of Worship at GC.

Last Saturday: Easter Egg hunt at GC with my parents, followed by lunch with my parents, grocery shopping and strawberry boba milk tea with the girls after nap time.

Sunday: beautiful Easter morning at church with free coffee from the Frother’s Daughter, lunch at Nana & PopPop’s house, then dinner at Grammy & Papa’s house, and Meg is learning to play the piano!

Monday: school day, alfredo tortellini for dinner, bath time, and a sleepy Emmie girl.

Tuesday: another “regular” school day, lunch with my Papa at Chicken Salad Chick, and a video call with brothers before bedtime.

Wednesday: Emerson made rain at school, and I was just obsessed with watching TikTok scrapbooking videos 😉

Thursday: matching dino girlies, I love the Android Auto function in my rental car, delicious Thai coconut chicken meal from Aldi, and cute clean girls after bath time.

Yesterday/Friday: lunch with my sissy at Iron Daisy (we both got fried chicken tacos), and then Friday Fiesta night at church.

And now finally we’ve made it to today! We went to the Lemoyne Arts Chain of Parks Art Festival this morning downtown, and that was way bigger and more intense than I was prepared for, but it was great! So many cool booths and art and so many people, and lots of good food and drinks and snacks.

We had lunch at Chick-fil-A together before we parted ways and we headed home. The girls both immediately went down for naps, and slept for about 2-2.5 hours. And when they woke up, Grammy and Grandmommie were there to hang out with us! Jeff went to my parents’ church for a men’s steak dinner, and we loved having our own little girls’ night at our house!

Oh I got these beautiful tomatoes and these homemade garlic dill pickles from the festival this morning from that beautiful veggie stand, and I can’t wait to try both of these out tomorrow, with a simple tomato sandwich and a side of cold pickles. Yum!

While I ran out to get our weekly Walmart grocery order, I was surprised to come back and find Grammy finishing up washing all my dirty dishes! And then she helped me fold two loads of little girl clothes, and then Grammy and Grandmommie both sat and matched up what seems like 4,000 pairs of tiny people socks while I got the girls in the bathtub. They stayed for a little while longer, and then headed out once they knew Jeff was headed back home.

Addie fell asleep pretty easily with Jeff rocking her, so I scooped her up to take her back to her bed. But Emmie is still cuddling in Daddy’s lap right now, staying up a little late, since she had a long, late-afternoon nap today. Like I already said, it’s good to be back to writing again, sharing our sweet little girls and these everyday memories.
