On another Monday morning, both girlies were adorable in new outfits, in fun springy colors and florals.
And we loved running into Uncle Bo and the triplets dropping off Baby Hayden at school! It’s Dr. Seuss week for them, so they were Thing 1, Thing 2 & (another) Thing 2 🤣
I got off work early today, and picked up Emerson from school early, to take her back to her next orthodontist appointment. They changed out the wire (for a stronger, heftier one), and changed out the bands across the front, and she went with all pink this time.
And of course we had to go for a pre-gymnastics snack after the ortho appointment, so we went to Dunkin for a soft treat for her (she requested a chocolate sprinkle donut and donut holes), and a coffee for me. And we still had some free time, so we went thrifting (she found a book that matched her whole vibe perfectly), and even went through the car wash and vacuumed out the car.
My little buddy was even a great helper getting trash out, moving stuff around to vacuum, and wiping down the car with a towel (she volunteered to do that all on her own, I didn’t even ask her!).
And as soon as gymnastics was over, she was immediately reading her book in the car on the way to pick up Addison.
We had breakfast burritos for dinner, with sauteed peppers & onions added extra for the grown-ups.
We are going on a big family vacation for spring break next week (leaving Saturday), so we started packing up some clothes for the girls in their little suitcases after dinner. Then Emmie found these funny little jack-o-lantern pops in the freezer that we forgot about at Halloween, so they had those for dessert while we watched our usual Bluey episode.
Jeff started washing up some dishes while I picked out the girls’ clothes tomorrow, and got them both dressed and ready for bed. We did another couple of pages in the Frozen seek-&-find book, before the rest of their bedtime routines.
I don’t want to speak too soon or jinx it, but it seems we’ve gotten into a good routine finally with the bedtime process, and both girls have been doing great when it’s time to lie down, and they’re falling asleep quickly and easily. (Addie still doesn’t always stay in her own bed all night, but we’re still working on that.) Jeff is now starting up a load of laundry, and I’ve got some dishes to wash, and we’re just gonna keep slowly working and getting things ready little by little for our upcoming trip…
