Bring the Joy

Today was “Christmas colors” day at school, and Emmie was excited to wear this cute new outfit from Nana. Jeff got her dressed this morning, and then sent her to me in the bathroom so I could do her hair & teeth. I said, “Ohh I like this outfit. Your shirt says ‘Bring the Joy.'” And she was like, “Yeah, Daddy already told me that.”

With very wiggly babies, fog, mist & rain, plus bad lighting, none of the pictures are very good, but these girls are all still so cute!

Jeff had a dentist appointment this afternoon, so he picked up Emerson early from school today. They went out for ice cream (I’m sure that took no real convincing), for a special afternoon daddy-daughter day date.

On my way home, I went through the Taco Bell drive-thru to grab an early dinner for our little family. Emmie got to open a sweet small Christmas gift that one of my coworkers gave her, with a few fun little trinkets & treats that she was excited about, including a light-up unicorn bracelet.

She had a PB&J for dinner, plus half a cheese roll-up, and decided she wanted some of the cotton candy from Grammy for her dessert.

She jumped and flopped around on the couch with me for a little bit, and we watched a little bit of Zootopia.

And then I headed out to church for praise team rehearsal. Jeff and Emmie stayed home and he got her all cleaned up in the bath, and then she picked out her own jammies, socks & sunglasses included 🙂 What a goofball!!

I got to sing with my friend Zac tonight, and my friend Ashlee was playing in the orchestra, and it was so nice to just chat and hang out with them a little bit. It’s been so long since things felt normal, and I missed them! We talked a lot about books and music, and it was just a good evening!

Jeff was finishing getting her to sleep as I got home, and although I would have liked another hug & kiss, it was nice to have him handle everything and not have to worry about it. Now it’s time for snacks and tv, and then bedtime soon, since it’s almost 10pm already/
