Boxing Day at Home

This goofy baby girl loves to climb under the dining room table and hang out on the chairs lately.

First, Emmie and I cleaned up her room, and found a couple boxes with of stuff to donate. Then, all of us spent quite a while this morning going through all of the Christmas presents, gift bags, trash and whatever else, trying to get organized and cleaned up. Jeff picked up Walmart grocery order, and I took a quick coffee break…

New “Baby Yoda” outfit from Grammy! (And a still-healing greenish black eye that kinda matches the color of her pants.)

We got Addison her lunch first, then got her down for a nap. Then Emerson ate a sandwich, and I got her down for a nap. I had some leftovers from Nana’s the other night, and Jeff had some peanut butter toast. The boys ended up falling asleep too, and just kinda skipped lunch, except for some random snacks.

I got a new frother for Christmas, and wanted to try that out. I tried to froth creamer, but it didn’t really work. Google said you could froth cream, but apparently milk works better. So I’ll try that next time. Then I tried to use it to stir my cold coffee, and made a giant mess. But it was still delicious.

Nana stopped by for a little visit after everyone was awake, to come hang out with us for an hour or so on her day off work. Ryan helped Jeff put together the girls’ new playhouse (that was the giant box in our Christmas morning pics), and Gabe put together the new Gabby’s Dollhouse for Emmie.

Nana took the girls for a little walk down our street for 20 minutes, which allowed me some time to wash up a sink full of dishes from the last few days.

And then their new playhouse was ready! Our house (and this blog) is nicknamed “Pullen’s Cozy Corner,” and so we named their little house “Pullen’s Cozy Pink Playhouse.” I sat outside with them for about 20 minutes, wrapped up as much as I could be, but it was so cold out there in the shade, and I couldn’t take it anymore, so we went back inside to sit under some blankets for a bit and get warmed up.

I had already put two small pork tenderloins in the crock-pot earlier in the afternoon, and then around 5pm, I prepped some potatoes to “bake.” Technically, I air-fried them using the air fryer function in my Ninja Foodie. This was the first time I’d ever done “baked potatoes” like this, but they were absolutely perfect, and I really loved how they came out.

For the 55-minutes the potatoes were air-frying, we kept working to clean the dining room and dining table, and cleaned off the coffee table too. Then we had some time to sit and rest and snuggle up with each other, while watching tv or reading or playing games on our phones.

Then it was time to eat! This really was super easy, and really good, and even though I somehow forgot to order sour cream with our groceries, we had plenty of butter, cheese, bacon bits and chives for the potatoes, and that was certainly my favorite part of the meal.

Jeff and Gabe ran to CVS after dinner for Sudafed (unfortunately, Gabe is slightly allergic to Pretzel) and other meds, so Ryan played with the girls, while I cleaned up a little after dinner, and made myself a container of leftovers to take to work tomorrow. (I’ve been off for 10 days, so I’m not exactly looking forward to that…)

This is Addie’s new sweatshirt I got her, which says “Wild About Daddy,” which is so true for this little Daddy’s Girl.

Emmie and I packed up a bag for her to go spend a few days at Grammy & Papa’s house starting tomorrow, and then got started on her bedtime routine. We read a story from her new Star Wars book we got her, while the new Baby Yoda stuffy she got yesterday (from I can’t remember who?) watched us reading.

Addie Pie was out like a light super easily tonight, all warm and snuggly with Daddy, as usual.

I’ve now knocked out two blog posts in one night (yesterday’s Christmas Day post, and this one for today), and I’m freezing cold sitting in our front room at the computer (even in my warm jammies & fuzzy socks!), so it’s definitely time for me to get even more snuggly and warm up, maybe with some hot tea or hot cocoa and Christmas cookies 🙂
