Can you even with this little romper with the floofy ruffle?! I can’t!
Jeff got caught working on some stuff and couldn’t take a lunch break today. As much as I just wanted to skip it since I didn’t want to go by myself, I went out and did it anyways, and I was proud of myself! I didn’t want to go too far away from the house by myself though (part of our regular walking route is a tad bit sketchy), so I walked a shorter stretch a couple of times, and still managed to get 1.66 miles. But I did see this beautiful butterfly flitting around on the side of the road, and I crept over to it and waited until I could snap a perfect picture of it’s gorgeous blue-tipped wings! I loved it! When I came back the second time, it flitted around in front of me while I walked, and then flew off, and it made me smile so much.
When Jeff went to Walmart for the third can of Kilz last night, he also found this really nice water bottle we can carry on our walks. His favorite feature was the silicone lined ring at the top that’s comfy on your fingers. But he was also really proud he picked one out that’s my favorite color. It’s also that yeti-style bottle, that keeps stuff ice-cold for 24 hours, so it was superrr cold and perfect for 90-degree weather.
About halfway-through my walk my Mama called, and we ended up talking for about 30 minutes, so when I got back to the house, I just sat in the carport talking to her for a while longer, and it was so good catching up!
I had an absolutely crazy afternoon at work today, and even ended up having to work late until 5:30, finishing up an immediate release issue. So Jeff went to pick up Emerson from school, and I got to wait for them on the couch for a bit after I finished up.
While dinner was baking in the oven, Emmie was cuddling Pretzel so sweetly, while Daddy showed us funny videos of cute animals and giggly babies on TikTok and Emmie thought it was all the greatest.
After dinner, Emerson tucked herself in on the couch, and chose to watch Monkey Kingdom on Disney+. She was super interested in it, and every time they showed a shot of just scenery, she was like, “I can’t see the monks!”
And then when she saw them again, she would clap and holler Yayyy!!!
Such a sweet little girl at bedtime, scrunching her eyes closed for prayer time. So sweet!
Alright, Jeff and I are finally putting the first coat of real, non-primer, “Canyon Wind” white paint on the upper cabinets tonight, because that third can of oil-based primer finally did the trick last night, and got rid of the yellow! It was not low VOC though, so it was super strong and intense smelling last night. I think the top coat of paint tonight is low-odor, low-VOC, so it shouldn’t knock our socks off again. So here we go!
