Biscuits & Gravy

Pretty girl, with windblown hair, on our way into church this morning. She brought her little drawing for her friend at church, and she was very proud of it and excited to give it to her.

We had homemade biscuits and gravy in our Sunday school class this morning, and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve had for breakfast in a while. Sooo good!

I was in nursery duty in the baby room at church this morning, and although Emerson started out in big church with Daddy and Grammy & Papa, she really wanted Mommy, so Jeff had to bring her to see me in the middle of the service, and then he actually asked the 3-year-old teachers if she could stay in there, which she loved.

Addie refused her bottle during church this morning and just slept the whole time, so it was time for her to try again after church. We didn’t want to attempt lunch with the fam with a hungry baby, so we got Chinese takeout (at Emerson’s request) from Long Garden (in the Ocala Publix shopping center), and brought it home. And this was some of the most delicious Chinese food! Definitely the best General Tso’s I’ve ever had. Highly recommend.

Emmie went down for her nap after lunch, and then I got Addie to sleep too. I held her for a long time, but then I was tired, so I laid her down and then napped next to her on the couch for a little bit.

Emerson had some more coloring to work on when she woke up…

And then when Addie woke up, I took a few photos of her – this was Emerson’s outfit when she was little, and I have pictures of her in this outfit on this same blanket!

Funny thing is, when I looked up the old photos of Emerson from 2018 (this was in March 2018, to be exact), I found one of her sleeping on my chest too (just like Addison today), and we also had Chinese food for lunch that Sunday after church too. So many similarities in that day and today! One of the big differences is though, Emerson wore this 0-3 month size outfit when she was 8 months old, and Addie is just 3 months old. Emmie always was the teeniest  little girl though! This collage below is Emerson in 2018. It’s crazy how similar they look though!

Then we headed over to Nana & PopPop’s house for dinner. She had a roast in the crockpot, and Emmie helped set the table and put the rolls on the baking sheet to warm up.

I was trying to order some little biker shorts for Emmie online and I wanted to know how big her waist was, so after Nana measured Emmie, Emmie wanted to measure Addie just for fun too.

We got both girls changed into their jammies before we left, and then headed home. Addie fell asleep in her car seat, so we left her to rest while we did Emerson’s bedtime routine.

Then right as we got Emmie in bed, this little girl just popped her eyes open and sat there sweetly looking around at us as we bustled around the house putting things away and what not.

I scooped her up for loves and hugs, and got her diaper changed, and Jeff made her a bottle.

He’s been feeding and burping Addison while I’ve been writing this, and Emerson has been asleep since we left her room. Addie’s a little fussy now, so I just got her some gas drops, and I’ll take her back from Daddy in a minute, so I can get some more snuggles before laying her down for the night.
